Abstract:
A container for a liquid-based food item and a packaged liquid-based food item, such as a soup. A container includes an outer member and an inner dividing member that is positioned inside the outer member to define inner and outer cavities. A liquid, such as water or broth, and one or more seasonings are placed in the inner cavity. Particulates, such as meat and vegetable particulates and, if necessary, water, are placed in the outer cavity. Seasonings are separated from particulates, and the seasoning does not diffuse into the particulates. Thus, the tastes of the individual ingredients are maintained. A sealing member extends across a tops of the inner and outer members to close the package. When the sealing member is removed to open the package, the water or broth with the seasoning, and the particulates and any water can be poured from their respective cavities in a single motion. By reducing or eliminating diffusion of seasonings into particulates, reduced quantities of salt and other seasonings can be added to processed soup products and allows salt and other seasonings to be added just prior to cooking, providing more natural flavor. Separating broth and particulates within a container can also reduce sterilization times.
Abstract:
A container has a first vessel and a second vessel permanently secured to and inside the first vessel. The interior compartment of the second vessel is separated from the interior compartment of the first vessel. A lid is detachably securable to the container, and includes a first portion corresponding to the opening of the first vessel, closing off the container from its environment. A second portion of the lid is integrally formed with the first portion, corresponding to the opening of the second vessel's interior compartment. The second portion of the lid seals the second opening of the second vessel's interior compartment. The interior compartments of both vessels are preferably simultaneously accessible from a top side of the container. The base of the container is optionally sized and shaped to fit within the opening of the first vessel for nestable staking of plural like containers. Optionally or additionally, the base includes a recess, sized and shaped to receive the upstanding sidewall of the second vessel of another like container, for nestable stacking of plural like containers. In one particular embodiment, the container is formed of a material that is approved by the U.S.F.D.A. as suitable for contact with human food and/or is microwave-safe.
Abstract:
The invention discloses a method and an apparatus for a food container which includes an inner member (200) (which can be a cup or a bottle) for holding a particulate food; an outer member (100) (which can be a second cup or a second bottle) adapted to receive the inner member (200), with a space between the inner and the outer members (200, 100), for a liquid food; where the inner member (200) interlocks with the outer member (100) and openings (230) are provided for the discharge of the liquid food; and the particulate food and the liquid food can be consumed simultaneously by tilting the container towards the mouth of the user to discharge or withdraw particulate food from the inner member (200) and liquid food from the outer member (100) through the aperture (230).
Abstract:
The multi-chambered bottle has, for instance, two chambers (11, 13) with openings (21, 23) that are arranged inside the neck (19). The opening (23) is disposed in a coaxial position with respect to said neck (19). This enables a closure (27) to be screwed or snapped onto the neck that is provided with a thread (20) or a snap-on shoulder. A lug (43) protrudes into and seals the opening (23). Two channels (35, 37) lead from the chambers to outlets (39, 40). The outlets can be closed using a lid (42).
Abstract:
A dispensing device for dental material. The device comprises at least two plungers for extruding dental material from a container. Further the device has a planetary gear drive (10) for moving the plungers and the container relative to each other. The planetary gear drive has at least three planet gears which are in engagement with an annulus gear and wherein the annulus gear is radial float -mounted relative to the planet gears. The device may be relatively robust in operation and may help minimizing costs in the manufacturing of the device.
Abstract:
A container for isolating first and second fluids, such as beverage concentrate components, until dispensing is provided, as well as methods of assembly and dispensing. The container can have a body for containing the first fluid and an insert, received at least partially within the body, for containing the second fluid and isolating the first and second fluids. A first fluid exit path and a second fluid exit path can both be blocked by a valve member. When the valve member is moved to an open position, flow through both the first and second fluid exit paths can occur.
Abstract:
A container is disclosed which segregates at least two types of seed during storage and blends the at least two types of seed together when emptied from the container. The container has a first compartment and a second compartment, the first compartment storing a first type of seed and the second compartment storing a second type of seed. A method is disclosed for blending at least two types of seed together.
Abstract:
A plural chambered container for storing separately a plurality of substances for mixing prior to opening the container. The container comprises a closed outer container having a side wall, bottom and top. It further comprises an inner chamber with a designated opening area, wherein the inner chamber is operatively attached to the bottom of the outer container. In addition the outer container is filled with a first substance and the inner chamber is filled with a second substance. The outer container is filled with a one substance and the inner chamber is filled with another substance. Upon pressing the side walls of said outer container, the designated opening area is opened thereby causing the substance in the inner chamber to mix with the substance in the outer container.
