A high density manufacturing cell or carousel for optimizing floor space usage to reduce equipment footprint and material travel path is disclosed. The carousel allows processing and transferring of products to be concurrently performed, minimising non-productive time. The manufacturing cell or carousel comprises: (a) a plurality of rotary platforms having one end being attached to a rotatable shaft positioned in the middle of the cell and being rotatable about the central axis thereof; (b) a plurality of vertical moving platforms being mounted substantially perpendicularly to an external cylindrical housing, wherein the cylindrical housing can be raised upwards and downwards; (c) a vertical walking beam located next to the cylindrical housing of the manufacturing cell which is a vertical beam having at a number of arms one less than the number of rotary platforms, to pick up and place products for processing and transferring products between platforms of the carousel; (d) A load gripper and a unload gripper mounted to independent robots, to load products into the carousel for processing and to unload processed products from the rotary platform and transferring to a conveyor positioned next to the walking beam.

The application provides a multi-storey warehouse. The ware- house includes a warehouse building, a plurality of floor lev- els, an inclined ramp arrangement, one or more automated stor- age and retrieval systems, and a handling device. The floor levels and the automated storage and retrieval system are lo- cated within the warehouse building. The inclined ramp ar- rangement connects the floor levels with a ground level. The automated storage and retrieval system comprises two adjacent rows of multi-storey pallet racks which are separated by an aisle. A first end of the automated storage and retrieval sys- tem is provided adjacent to a lateral side of the floor levels. The handling device is located in the area of the aisle, wherein the handling device serves a plurality of pick/place locations which are provided at the floor levels as well as a plurality of storage locations which are provided in the mul- ti-storey pallet racks.

Es wird ein Verfahren zum Sortieren und/oder Fördern von Lebensmittelprodukten, insbesondere Wurst, Schinken und/oder Käse, vorgeschlagen, welches die folgenden Verfahrensschritte aufweist: Aufnehmen des Lebensmittelprodukts (2) mittels eines Aufnahmeelements (3), Positionieren des Lebensmittelprodukts (2) in einer Zielposition durch Bewegen des Aufnahmeelements (3) mittels wenigstens eines Aktuators und Ablegen des Lebensmittelprodukts (2) an der Zielposition, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass beim Ablegen des Lebensmittelprodukts ein schaltbares Reibungsreduktionsmittel zur Reduktion der Reibung zwischen dem Lebensmittelprodukt (2) und dem Aufnahmeelement (3) eingeschaltet wird.

The present invention provides a conveyor arrangement for removing a self-rolling load carrier from a production line, the conveyor arrangement allowing transport corridor that is safe and easy to clean. The conveyor arrangement comprises means for forming a safety area on the passage corridor (30) of the load carriers (40). The said means are arranged to detect the presence of a foreign object on the passage corridor (30) and in case of detection to stop the movement of the conveyor. The conveyor arrangement also comprises a coordinate conveyor (10) arranged above the load carrier (40) to transport the load carrier (40) away from the production line (20), whereby the floor of the safety area (30) is free of conveyors, i.e. there's free space in the production lines in the direction of movement.

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Greifer für eine Handhabungseinrichtung mit mindestens einem elastisch verformbaren Greiferelement (01; 02; 03), welches durch eine Kraft zum Handhaben eines zu handhabenden Gegenstandes verformbar ist. Der Greifer ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass ein Sensor (06; 07; 08; 36) zur Messung einer Verformung des Greiferelementes (02; 03) in den Greifer integriert ist.

A system and a method for maintaining, transferring and transporting a flexible package. The system includes a manipulating system, preferably a five axis robot, for transferring and displacing the flexible package and a lift-assist platform positioned within a reach of the manipulating system for transporting the package and for supporting a weight of the flexible package. The system may be used more specifically for the transport and transfer of upright flexible packages. The system simplifies the tool supported by the robot, thus allowing use of a smaller robot.
