Nach jeweiligem Einsetzen wird eine außen liegende Lage (15) der jeweiligen neuen Rolle (5) im Bereich ihres freien Endes abgezogen und zur Bildung einer ununterbrochenen Materialbahn mit einem Abschnitt einer in der Verpackungsmaschine (3) geführten Materialbahn einer weiteren Rolle (5) verbunden.
