Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for separating semi-conducting and metallic single-walled carbon nanotubes from each other and, if present, from other carbonaceous material, or for separating semi-conducting single-walled carbon nanotubes from other carbonaceous material, via centrifugation performed by a temperature of > 25°C using a solution of a polytungstate as separation medium; to semi-conducting single-walled carbon nanotubes obtainable by this method; and to the use of these semi-conducting single-walled carbon nanotubes e.g. in electronic devices, optical devices, optoelectronic devices, energy storage devices and the like.
Abstract:
Provided herein is a nanopore structure, which in one aspect is a "carbon nanotube porin", that comprises a short nanotube with an associated lipid coating. Also disclosed are compositions and methods enabling the preparation of such nanotube/lipid complexes. Further disclosed is a method for therapeutics delivery that involves a drug delivery agent comprising a liposome with a NT loaded with a therapeutic agent, introducing the therapeutic agent into a cell or a tissue or an organism; and subsequent release of the therapeutic agents into a cell.

The present invention relates to a method for separating semi-conducting and metallic single-walled carbon nanotubes from each other and, if present, from other carbonaceous material, or for separating semi-conducting single-walled carbon nanotubes or metallic single-walled carbon nanotubes from other carbonaceous material via density separation using a solution of a polytungstate; to semi-conducting single-walled carbon nanotubes obtainable by this method; and to the use of these semi-conducting single-walled carbon nanotubes; as well as to metallic single-walled carbon nanotubes obtainable by this method; and to their use. The invention further relates to the use of a polytungstate, in particular sodium polytungstate, for separating semi-conducting single-walled carbon nanotubes from metallic single-walled carbon nanotubes, or for separating semi-conducting single-walled carbon nanotubes from undesired carbonaceous material, in particular from metallic single-walled carbon nanotubes, or for separating metallic single-walled carbon nanotubes from undesired carbonaceous material, in particular from semi-conducting single-walled carbon nanotubes. The invention also relates to specific polyarylethers containing phosphate groups and their use as surface-active compounds.

Abstract:
An apparatus according to the present invention comprises a chamber into which carbon nanotubes dispersed in a non-polar solvent may be received. The nanotubes are impelled along the chamber by the application of an external electrical field and will pass through a charging element that imposes an electrical charge on the nanotubes, and a template (180), such that the nanotubes are deposited on a substrate located next to the template. The substrate may be moved relative to the template such that the nanotubes are deposited on the substrate in a predetermined selective manner.
Abstract:
A nanostructure coated with a twist-strained double-stranded circular deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is provided, together with methods for preparing the coated nanostructure, for removing the DNA coating from thenanostructure, and for sorting nanostructures using the DNA coating.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides systems and methods for production of nanostmctures using a plasma generator. In an embodiment, a system for use with a reactor for synthesis of nanostmctures may include a chamber defining a pathway for directing a fluid mixture for the synthesis of nanostmctures through the chamber. The system may further include one or more heating zones disposed along the chamber to provide a temperature gradient in the chamber to form catalyst particles upon which nanostmctures can be generated from the components of the fluid mixture. The system may also include a plasma generator for generating a plasma flame in a conduit through which the fluid mixture may be passed to decompose a carbon source in the fluid mixture into its constituent atoms before proceeding into the reactor for formation of nanostmctures.
