摘要: The invention concerns a device for isolation of material, such as medical substances, present in dissolved state in human or animal urine. Said device comprises a urine receiving unit (3), a vaporization chamber (6) being in fluid communication with said urine receiving unit, a vapor evacuation unit being in fluid/vapor communication with said vaporization chamber, a protective structure (21) being vapor permeable and operative as a demister so as to prevent mist-building liquid droplets from passing through the vapor evacuation unit, and a waste container (9) for receiving waste from the vaporization chamber. The waste container is in fluid communication with the vaporization chamber. The invention further regards a method for isolation of material, such as medical substances, present in dissolved state in human or animal urine.

摘要: An ozone generator (1) is presented comprising a body (2), a first electrode (4), a second electrode (6), an elongate channel within the body extending between the first and second electrodes, an inlet (10) and an outlet (12); the elongate channel being in fluid communication with the inlet and the outlet; the elongate channel isolated from each of the first and second electrodes by a respective dielectric layer (22, 24), whereby an electric field can be generated across the elongate channel between the first and second electrodes. The presented ozone generator allows small quantities of ozone to be produced for use in small scale water treatment. In addition, a method of producing ozone is presented using an ozone generator according to the invention.

摘要: The present invention is a method for controlling ( e.g. inhibiting) the growth of microorganisms or killing microorganisms in an aqueous solution, such as that found in a water treatment facility or papermaking facility. The method includes adding an effective amount of (a) a free halogen-generating biocide, (b) a halogen stabilizer, and (c) a quaternary ammonium compound, a biocidal amine or salt thereof, or mixture thereof to the aqueous solution. The aqueous solution may be water in a recreational facility, an industrial cooling system, a water treatment facility or a water slurry, such as a circulating water slurry, in a papermaking facility. The mixture of the present invention is useful as a slimicide. The quaternary ammonium biocide and/or biocidal amine increase the efficacy of the free halogen-generating biocidal system.
