Such composition can be employed as a water paint for obtaining wall coatings with very low thickness, in particular for outdoor applications, which ensure a high and stable photocatalytic effect over time even with relatively low quantities of photocatalyst, generally lower than 10% by weight, with optimal results in terms of uniformity of the coating and resistance of the same to weathering agents.

In various embodiments, composite materials containing a ceramic matrix and a carbon nanotube-infused fiber material are described herein. Illustrative ceramic matrices include, for example, binary, ternary and quaternary metal or non-metal borides, oxides, nitrides and carbides. The ceramic matrix can also be a cement. The fiber materials can be continuous or chopped fibers and include, for example, glass fibers, carbon fibers, metal fibers, ceramic fibers, organic fibers, silicon carbide fibers, boron carbide fibers, silicon nitride fibers and aluminum oxide fibers. The composite materials can further include a passivation layer overcoating at least the carbon nanotube-infused fiber material and, optionally, the plurality of carbon nanotubes. The fiber material can be distributed uniformly, non-uniformly or in a gradient manner in the ceramic matrix. Non-uniform distributions may be used to form impart different mechanical, electrical or thermal properties to different regions of the ceramic matrix.

The subject of our invention is a structure of constructions and buildings where any of the load-bearing parts are from a fireproof and at the same time heat- and sound insulating, continuously solidifying material of fractional density as compared to concrete and produced by mixings without addition of thermal energy. The material of any of the structural elements consists of a mixture of spheres, nodules and an aqueous solution solidified following mixing in a given mass proportion. The material, besides the part of the space filled by solid material between the spheres, also contains evenly distributed cells, and it contains the spheres - provided with a coating solidified on them as a result of earlier mixing with a small amount of the aqueous solution of the binder - positioned in a spatial arrangement constituting the nodal points of a regular geometrical net. The constructions and building structures of homogeneous build as per our invention can be suitably utilized at any loadability for passive, energy-efficient projects adaptive to climate change.

In einem anderen Verfahren werden zunächst Fasern mit anorganischen Kristallen beschichtet und aus den erhaltenen Fasern zusammen mit Zement, den einen oder mehreren industriellen Nebenprodukten, Reaktionswasser und dem einem oder mehreren Additiven eine leichte Gesteinskörnung hergestellt. In einem weiteren Verfahren zur Herstellung einer leichten Gesteinskörnung werden zunächst Zement, Kalkhydrat, Silicium- und/oder Aluminiumoxidpartikel und gegebenenfalls ein oder mehrere industrielle Nebenprodukte, ausgewählt aus Verbrennungsschlacken und -aschen und Gesteinsmehl, trocken vorgemischt und anschließend Reaktionswasser und ein oder mehrere Additive zugegeben und die resultierende Reaktionsmischung unter Einschluss von Luft, ausschließlich durch Rühren, bis zur Bildung eines schaumigen Mineralbreis gemischt. Der erhaltene Mineralbrei wird dann in einer Form zu einem mineralischen Schaumblock gehärtet und nach dem Ausschalen in eine leichte Gesteinskörnung zerkleinert. This invention discloses a new technology related to cellulose fiber reinforced cement composite materials using the loaded cellulose fibers. This invention discloses four aspects of the technology: fiber treatment; formulation; method and final product. This technology advantageously provides fiber cement building materials with the desirable characteristics of reduced water absorption, reduced rate of water absorption, lower water migration, and lower water permeability. This invention also impart the final products improved freeze-thaw resistance, reduced efflorescence, reduced chemical dissolution and re-deposition, and improved rot and fire resistances, compared to conventional fiber cement products. These improved attributes are gained without loss in dimensional stability, strength, strain or toughness.

The invention relates to a method for effectively decreasing electromagnetic radiation by means of active absorbing material in a broad frequency band, preferably from 100 MHz - 10 GHz, wherein said material combines the desired shielding properties with the heat insulating properties of a porous material in addition to providing a favourable ratio between density and resistance. The inventive method is characterised by an absorber granulate which consists of a highly porous glass and/or ceramic granulate which is coated or filled with ferrite and/or an electrically conductive material.
