Disclosed herein are sealed devices comprising at least one cavity containing at least one quantum dot or at least one laser diode are also disclosed herein. The sealed devices can comprise a glass substrate sealed to an inorganic substrate, optionally via a sealing layer, the seal extending around the at least one cavity. Display and optical devices comprising such sealed devices are also disclosed herein, as well as methods for making such sealed devices.
摘要:
Materials that seamlessly transition from opaque to transparent or translucent, such as advance ceramics to glass structures, which can be directly and seamlessly bonded without the use of an intermediate adhesive or use of a frame are disclosed. That is, a ceramic to glass structure can be bonded directly and seamlessly and without any mechanical joints, connective tissue or adhesives such as caulking or epoxy. Such ceramic to glass materials can be prepared by sintering a ceramic with a glass to form the ceramic-glass structure in which the interface is visually abruptly or in which the material is a graded composition with the desired rate of growth from one material to the other.
摘要:
Methods of improving the direct bonding of articles are disclosed. Lithium can be incorporated into the composition of one of the articles and/or lithium can be added to a bonding surface by ion exchange, absorption, ion implantation, coating, or deposition. Bonding is achieved without use of adhesives or high temperature fusion. The invention is useful for bonding a wide variety of articles together such as optical components, optical fibers and articles having different coefficients of thermal expansion or refractive indices.
摘要:
Disclosed herein are methods for welding a first substrate and a second substrate, the method comprising bringing the first and second substrates into contact to form a substrate interface, and directing a laser beam operating at a predetermined wavelength through the second substrate onto the substrate interface, wherein the first substrate absorbs light from the laser beam in an amount sufficient to form a weld between the first substrate and the second substrate. The disclosure also relates to glass and/or glass-ceramic packaging and OLED display produced according to the methods disclosed herein.

A method for forming a fluidic module for a continuous flow reactor includes providing at least one planar glass or ceramic sheet having one or more through-holes, forming at least one patterned glass or ceramic layer having at least one patterned surface such that the patterned surface comprises channels defined between walls having an upper surface at a common height, stacking the at least one glass or ceramic sheet and the at least one patterned glass or ceramic layer together, the sheet contacting the walls at the common height, such that the channels are enclosed between the sheet and the patterned layer, the sheet being aligned with the patterned layer such that the one or more through-holes each align with respective spaces between walls of the patterned layer to provide fluid access to said respective spaces, and joining the sheet and the patterned layer together by pressing the sheet and the patterned layer together while heating the sheet and the patterned layer; wherein the patterned glass or ceramic layer further comprises one or more raised structures extending above the common height, and wherein the step of stacking comprises stacking the sheet on the upper surface of the walls at the common height, in a position such that the one or more raised structures confine the sheet to a desired position or alignment on the patterned layer.
