Abstract:
Abstract:
Abstract:
A desmodromic valve system which provides direct bidirectional displacement of a valve stem of an internal combustion engine without the aid of a rocker arm, utilizing a semirigid basket operating in conjunction with a plurality of cams for each valve. The basket is disposed about the camshaft of the engine and secured to the valve stem by an integral retainer on a bottom portion of the basket, and is constrained to motion along the valve stem axis. The basket has a pair of downwardly oriented cam followers in the upper portion thereof, spaced apart from the valve stem axis. A central cam and a parallel pair of side cams are fixedly mounted on the camshaft so as to rotate therewith, the cams substantially surrounded by the basket and cooperating therewith to provide reciprocating valve action with positive bidirectional drive.
Abstract:
A lower cam carrier (20) is disposed over a cylinder head (10) and a head cover (40) is disposed thereover. The lower cam carrier (20) has, formed as one therewith, an outer frame (22) superposed with the edge peripheral edge (14) of the cylinder head (10), and a bridging part (26) provided between opposing sides of the outer frame (22). The bridging part (26) has a lower bearing (28) for supporting an intake camshaft (30) and an exhaust camshaft (32). The head cover (40) has, formed as one therewith, a flange (42) superposed with the outer frame (22) and a bearing (46) opposing the bridging part (26) inside the flange (42). The bearing (46) has an upper bearing that, together with the lower bearing, supports the intake camshaft (30) and the exhaust camshaft (32).
Abstract:
The invention refers to the mechanical engineering industry, more properly to the internal combustion engine gas-distributing device configuration improvement. In the proposed device for the internal combustion engine the injecting and exhausting gas valve timing occurs in automatic mode in relation to the load applied to the engine shaft and the shaft speed. Several alternatives of the invention realization are proposed.. In the most preferred embodiment of the invention (fig.3b and fig.5) the camshafts cams 30 and 31 operates through the rocker arms 33, mounted on the axle 32, at that each cylinder has four distributing valves two admission 10 and two emission 11 valves disposed in mutually antithetic position, as well as two camshafts 21 and 26, which are similar by construction with those installed in the two camshafts engines each cylinder has one admission and one emission camshaft. In such a rocker arms 33 and cams 30 and 31 interaction with admission 10 and emission 11 valves there are one intake and one discharge manifolds on the cylinder flow head opposite sides.
Abstract:
An internal combustion engine has a cylinder head assembly with a camshaft (28) mounted therein and breather passages (70) through it. A guard member (38) is mounted on the head casting (12) and includes guards (40) over the cams (42), side walls (39) and a bearing ladder for the camshaft. A gasket (46) between the guard member (38) and a cover (44) forms, with the guard member (38), a separation region (50) having an inlet (72) fed by the breather passages and outlets (51) in the form of holes through the gasket (46). The gas that can flow from the breather passages to the outlets (51) is slow and substantially horizontal so that oil can separate out of the gas. The guards (40) prevent oil from the cams (42) from mixing with the breather gases.
