Abstract:
Abstract:
This idea is based, on a rotary valve (2) that rotates in the cylinder head (11) of four stroke cycle engines. This valve is a shaft upon which there is a groove (3). The valve rotates among three ports (suction port (5)- combustion chamber port (7)-exhaust port (6). During rotation, the groove (3) allows once the exhaust to get out from the exhaust port (6) and the combustion chamber port (7) and in other time allows the passage of suction charge from the suction port (5) and the combustion chamber port (7).After that, the groove disappears from the combustion chamber port leading to the compression and power strokes depending on the position of the shaft sealing. This idea replaces camshaft and valves of the cylinder head of the four stroke cycle engines by one part, which is the rotary valve (2) that controls the occurrence of the four strokes.
Abstract:
An exhaust valve for internal combustion engines comprises a cylindrical valve stem (1) with a longitudinal cooling duct (2), and a circular, substantially disc-shaped head (3) securely connected to the valve stem (1), the head (3) having at least one cooling duct (4) which extends from the bottom (5) of the valve stem's cooling duct (2) to an outlet (6) on the head's surface (7), in order to conduct coolant through the valve stem (1), through the head (3) to exhaust gases from the engine. In the valve stem's cooling duct (2) there is inserted a cross section-reducing insert (8).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a valve assembly, comprising a valve (4) which is associated with a gas conduit (8), has a valve disc (6) and a valve stem (7) supporting said valve disc and is provided with a cooling device. In said valve assembly, a simple design, high functional reliability and a good energy balance can be achieved by using a gaseous cooling medium or a cooling medium which consists at least partially of components that can be converted into a gaseous state. The cooling medium is discharged as gas into a gas conduit (8) via at least one outlet chamber (17), and for this purpose each discharge duct (19) originating from the outlet chamber (17) opens into a gas conduit (8).
Abstract:
The invention refers to a method and to suitable arrangements for the performing of a local cooling of the surroundings of an exhaust valve and its corresponding valve seat in a reciprocating internal combustion engine and, preferably, in low-speed or medium speed diesel engine. The method consists of the injection of a suitable cooling medium, via at least one outflow nozzle (5), inside Ihe combustion chamber of the engine and, more specifically, into the space in front of the valve seat (2) of the exhaust valve (1). Said injection is performed at a strictly predefined moment, just before the beginning of the opening of the exhaust valve. Via this way a cloud of vapors is formed -inside the combustion chamber- in the vicinity of the exhaust valve seat. This cloud of inert vapors is the first gaseous content of the combustion chamber which will escape from the combustion chamber through the very narrow opening which is formed, between exhaust valve (1) and seat (2), at the very first moments of the opening movement of the exhaust valve. The outflow nozzles (5) can be located either onto the exhaust valve (1) or onto the valve seat (2) or onto the cylinder head (3).
