    摘要: Disclosed herein is a traveling-based insurance rating system comprising a telematics device associated with a vehicle having one or more sensors arranged therein, a mobile device associated with a passenger of the vehicle, and a server computer comprising hardware, including a processor and memory. The server computer may receive driving data of a driver of the vehicle from the one or more sensors via the telematics device. The server computer may then identify one or more values of the driving data to be within one or more predetermined ranges and classify the driving data as a trip of the passenger. Based on the driving data from the trip, the server computer may determine one or more driving behaviors of the driver, calculate an insurance rating for the passenger of the vehicle based on the one or more driving behaviors of the driver, and transmit the insurance rating to the mobile device.

    摘要: A system and method of controlling the operation of a transmission using fuel consumption data. The system and method includes controlling the operation of a vehicle transmission which is operatively connected to an engine and to a transmission control module having access to a memory. Fuel consumption data for a plurality of engines is converted to engine efficiency loss data representative of the each of the engines' operation. The plurality of patterns, each representative of the operating characteristics of one of plurality of engines, is stored in the memory. Engine operating characteristics are recorded during operation of the vehicle. One of the pluralities of patterns is selected based on the recorded operating characteristics to operate the vehicle in a fuel efficient manner.

    摘要: Exemplary embodiments are provided of telematics devices and exemplary corresponding methods. In an exemplary embodiment, a telematics device generally includes a controller and a wireless communication module for transmitting data to a remote station. The controller is configured to periodically obtain the speed of a vehicle, determine when the speed of the vehicle has exceeded a first speed threshold, store the monitored speed as a max speed value, and compare each successive monitoring interval speed to a previous monitoring interval speed. When the successive monitoring interval speed is greater than the max speed value, the max speed value is updated. A speeding event occurs when each successive monitoring interval speed is above the first speed threshold for a speed duration, and/or when any successive monitoring interval speed exceeds a second speed threshold.
