摘要: The present disclosure relates generally to a battery module having a housing and a stack of battery cells disposed in the housing. Each battery cell has a battery cell terminal and a battery cell vent on an end of each battery cell, and the battery cell vent is configured to exhaust effluent into the housing. The battery module has a vent shield plate disposed in the housing and directly along an immediate vent path of the effluent, a first surface of the vent shield plate configured to direct the effluent to an opening between the shield plate and the housing, and a second surface of the vent shield plate opposite the first surface. The battery module also has a venting chamber coupled to the opening and at least partially defined by the second surface and a vent configured to direct the effluent out of the battery module.

摘要: A battery pack includes a plurality of cell assemblies each of which include one or more prismatic batteries. A frame has legs sized and configured to be positioned around the prismatic batteries. At least one leg includes a rear face, curved outer edge and a side face. A thermal transfer sheet is made from a sheet of a compressed mass of exfoliated graphite particles. Each thermal transfer sheet is positioned to contact the major surface of the at least one prismatic battery and is bent over the curved outer edge. At least a portion of each thermal transfer sheet is secured between a heat sink and the side face.

The cover includes a protruded portion defining a cavity under the cover, where the cavity is configured to receive gases vented from the electrochemical cells, where the cover comprises an indentation into the protruded portion of the cover toward the housing, and where the indentation is configured to define at least a portion of the cavity on a first side of the indentation and to receive the handle on a second side of the indentation opposite to the first side.

The first portion has a plurality of first conductive components coupled to one another within first connection planes using a first conductive material, and the first connection planes are substantially parallel to the base. The second portion has a plurality of second conductive components coupled to one another within second connection planes using a second conductive material, different from the first conductive material, and the second connection planes are crosswise to the first connection planes.

The battery module also includes a vent pad disposed within the vent path and blocking at least a portion of the exit port, coupled to a boundary surface of the exit port via an adhesive layer between the vent pad and the boundary surface, and configured to enable venting through the exit port by separating from the boundary surface along the adhesive layer in response to a pressure against the vent pad exceeding a venting pressure threshold of the battery module.
