Methods, devices, systems and computer program products facilitate accessing metadata associated with a primary audio visual content. Upon reception of a primary content, one or more watermark messages are extracted from, the primary content obtain, a server code and an interval code. A query to a metadata server is initiated based on the information obtained from the extracted watermark messages. In response to the query, service recovery information is received that includes information identifying one or more timed events, where each timed event identifies an operation to be performed at a corresponding instance in time as the primary' content is being presented by the receiver device. One or more operations identified the timed events are initiated at the corresponding instance(s) in time.
Abstract:
Methods, systems and devices enable enhanced delivery of metadata, as well as auxiliary programs and services associated with a primary content. In one method, a primary content with pre-existing watermarks is received at a content distributor device. The preexisting watermark include specific fields that allow retrieval of a first metadata. The values and boundary locations of the symbols of the pre-existing watermark messages are determined, and symbols of a new watermark message are embedded in the primary content to render the pre-existing watermarks undetectable. The new watermark message includes symbol values that different from those in the pre-existing watermark messages and enable retrieval of a second metadata. Upon transmission of the primary content to a client device, detection of the new watermark message, and initiation of a request by the client device, access to the first or the metadata, as well as associated programs or services, are enabled.

The secure selection of at least one uniquely visually rendered media content stream(s) by a receiver of streams may allow enhanced fingerprinting of media content. The stream(s) may be visually rendered, and fingerprint marks inserted, using the preprocessing techniques of explicit insertion, implicit insertion, and object modification. In particular, multiple media content streams of the same event and signaling information may be received by a receiver. Each media content stream of the multiple of the media content streams may include a unique rendering of the media content stream. The receiver may be associated with a unique identifier (ID). At least one media content stream of the multiple media content streams may be selected using the receiver. The selected at least one media content stream of the multiple media content streams may be provided to a display.

Systems and methods are provided for generating a hybrid signal. Digital video is broadcast in a first set of at least one time slot of a plurality of time slots comprising the hybrid signal. Mobile data, formatted for reception at a mobile device, is broadcast in a second set of at least one time slot of the plurality of time slots comprising the hybrid signal. Structured data is broadcast in a transition band between the first set of at least one time slot and the second set of at least one time slot.

A set of video frames and target content is received. The target content is to be presented upon detection of a playback of the set of video frames. The playback of the set of video frames is detected. In response to the detection of the playback of the set of video frames, the target content is communicated for presentation.
Abstract:
The invention intercepts content transmitted between devices, content display devices and content source devices. A source can be but is not limited to being a set-top box. A display can be but is not limited to being a television. Interception can be but is not limited to HDMI pass-through, augmented reality glasses or brain scanning devices. The invention receives content from a source. The invention communicates with a content recogniser which responds with instructions describing modifications to the input content. The invention performs the instructed modifications outputting modified content to a display. Modification made to content can be but is not limited to prompting interaction with any other device such as but not limited to remote controls, mobile phones and tablet computers. The result of the prompted interaction can be but is not limited to launching an application on any device.
