Abstract: Disclosed herein is an ultrasound imaging system configured to guide medical device insertion. The ultrasound imaging system includes an ultrasound probe having an ultrasound generation device configured to detect one or more anatomical targets within a target area, and one or more projectors configured to project one or more icons within the target area. The ultrasound imaging system can also include a console configured to generate the one or more icons. The console can be coupled to the ultrasound probe, and be in communication with each of the ultrasound generation device and the one or more projectors.

Abstract: An implant (20) comprises a wall (28) that surrounds a lumen (44). A delivery tool (8) comprises a catheter (22), a control assembly (64), and an ultrasound tool (36). The catheter is transluminally advanceable into a subject, and has a distal opening. The implant can be delivered via the catheter. The control assembly can advance at least a portion (70) of the wall out of the distal opening, and can steer the catheter to place the portion against a site of a tissue of the subject, the site disposed distally from the portion and opposite the distal opening. The ultrasound tool can (i) position an ultrasound transceiver within the lumen and facing the portion, and (ii) facilitate imaging of the site by transmitting ultrasound energy through the portion. An anchor driver can anchor the implant to the tissue by driving an anchor through the portion and into the site.

Abstract: Methods for guiding a surgical procedure include accessing information relating to a surgical procedure, accessing at least one image of a surgical site captured by an endoscope during the surgical procedure, identifying a tool captured in the at least one image by a machine learning system, determining whether the tool should be changed based on comparing the information relating to the surgical procedure and the tool identified by the machine learning system, and providing an indication when the determining indicates that the tool should be changed.

Abstract: A co-registration system includes a processor circuit that corrects the location of an indicator identifying a radiopaque portion of an intravascular catheter shown in an x-ray image and corrects the shape of a pathway defined by the movement of the radiopaque portion. The processor circuit receives, from the x-ray imaging device, x-ray images of a blood vessel while the intravascular catheter/guidewire moves through the blood vessel. The processor circuit receives, from the catheter, intravascular data representative of the blood vessel while the catheter moves through the blood vessel. The processor circuit co-registers the intravascular data to an x-ray image received from the x-ray imaging device. The processor circuit also displays the location indicator identifying the location of the radiopaque portion of the catheter in each x-ray image. In response to a user input, the processor circuit moves the location indicator to a corrected location. The processor circuit also modifies the shape of the pathway of the catheter in response to a user input. The processor circuit then completes the co-registration process again after either of these changes are made.

Abstract: Provided is a system, method, and computer program product for tracking a needle. The method includes determining a visibility of the needle being inserted into a subject in an image of a sequence of images, in response to determining that the visibility satisfies a visibility threshold, detecting a location of the needle based on at least one first algorithm and a detected curvature of the needle, in response to determining that the visibility does not satisfy the visibility threshold, detecting the location of the needle being inserted based on at least one second algorithm, and tracking the location of the needle in the sequence of images based on locations detected with the at least one first algorithm and the at least one second algorithm.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are portable ultrasound systems and methods. In an example, a portable ultrasound system can include a handheld computer, a case holding the handheld computer, a probe head coupled to the case, and a communicating means for communicating between the probe head and the handheld computer. The handheld computer can include a display. The case can also include an anterior opening framing the display of the handheld computer. The case can include a rechargeable battery integrated into the case opposite the anterior opening. The probe head can include an array of ultrasonic transducers powered by the battery. In another example, a method of the portable ultrasound system includes a method of using the portable ultrasound system.

As another example, some embodiments include receiving the user selection by detecting tilts, taps, or voice commands. Some embodiments include automatically modifying the location of the ultrasound imaging plane. Some embodiments include modifying the location of the ultrasound imaging plane during biplane imaging.

Abstract: An integrated imaging and device deployment platform and method may include a catheter, at least one imaging unit, at least one deployment unit, and at least one device configured to be deployed by the at least one deployment unit. The integrated imaging and device deployment platform facilitates improved navigation and deployment of a therapeutic or medical device by providing the at least one imaging unit proximate the deployment unit. Information generated from the at least one imaging unit may be utilized with additional imaging modalities to provide improved imaging and delivery of devices while reducing use of X-ray radiation and contrast injection.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for categorizing and/or characterizing a user interface. The systems and methods include generating acoustic data associated with an acoustic reflection of an acoustic signal, the acoustic reflection being indicative of, at least in part, one or more features of a user interface coupled to a respiratory therapy device via a conduit. The systems and methods further include analyzing the generated acoustic data. The systems and methods further include categorizing and/or characterizing the user interface based, at least in part, on the analyzed acoustic data.
