Abstract:
A method is described for manufacture of a lid (10) for a beaker (11), a can or the like where the lid comprises a rim section (12) arranged to be fitted onto the opening edge of the beaker and close the access to it, and where the flat surface section of the lid inside said rim comprises a number of mutually adjoining flaps (16) formed by making through-going slits (16) in the flat surface section where the flaps are produced in that a cutting tools (41) is brought to and pressed down against the flat surface section of the lid from its top side and cuts the slits while the flat surface section rests against a base, and the method is characterised by, during the cutting the lower flat surface section of the lid is arranged onto and pressed against a support section that gives the flaps a downward curvature in the area adjoining the rim section while the flaps forward toward the centre of the lid/flap points run gently downward and approximately straight. Also described are two variants of the product itself, and also a tool for manufacture of flaps in the lid that can be bent down.
Abstract:
In a method for producing blanks (14) in printing media (10) in the form of webs or sheets, wherein the blanks are punched as the printing media pass through a punching tool (50) and are then provided with a feature as they pass through a further tool (70), which feature requires positioning within prescribed limits on said media, it is proposed according to the invention that the punching tool is used to punch free in the printing media markings (18) that are respectively arranged without tolerance in their position in relation to the blanks, and that these markings are used for the incorporation of said feature in the subsequent processing of the blanks.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a weather-stripping seal production system comprising one extruder (2), the pulling mechanism (14) embodied to enable a continuous and regular movement along the work flow of the weather-stripping seal (4), which has been produced in the extruder (2) and on which no ducts (5) have been opened, at least one duct opening mechanism (6) positioned on the work flow of the weather-stripping seal (4) in order to open ducts (5) on the said weather- stripping seal (4).
Abstract:
A shingle (52, 53) and a method of and apparatus for making the shingle is provided, whereby patches (26, 27, 28, 30, etc.) of preselected granules (18, 25, 40) or combinations of granules (25, 40) are provided, separated by transverse areas (33) of different, preferably darker granules (18), having slots (48) centrally thereof, to yield the appearance of multi-tab (50) shingles that are thicker than they actually are, with transverse shadow lines (39). A longitudinal shadow line (41, 42) is optionally provided, along the upper and/or lower portion of the exposed tab (50).
Abstract:

Abstract:
A cutting device (50) is described having a base (52) with an opening with cutting edges, and a flap (60) articulated with respect to the base (52), the flap having a shape corresponding to the opening and cutting edges corresponding to the cutting edges of the opening. The cutting device (50) is preferably provided as part of a kit for preparing and delivering hemostatic material to a patient.

Abstract:
An independently driven slotter unit (30) for slotting paper board material includes frame assembly (32) having a conveying path (4) therethrough for board (2) travel. The slotting head (46) above the conveying path (4) is preferably the male slotting head having an arcuate blade (54) thereon for cutting leading and trailing slots in a bord (2). The male slotter head (46) is independently driven such that it can rapidly rotate and stop depending on the orientation of the board. The ability of the male slotting head to pause in a dwell position permits boards of virtually unlimited length to be trimmed with a single blade (54).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for generating predetermined break lines in flat or slab-like or oblong elements made of thermoplastic polymers such as polyester or the like and/or derivatives thereof, said element comprising at least two faces which are opposite to each other and which are spaced apart by a predetermined thickness, and which method involves making a pre-cut by means of a cutting tool wherein said pre-cut is made so as to create a sharp slit while maintaining or generating a glassy phase of the material in the area of the remaining material thickness beyond the sharp end of said pre-cut slit.
