摘要: A method for inhibiting whisker growth on a metallic substrate susceptible to whisker growth (e.g., tin, zinc, cadmium, indium, silver, lead, aluminum, gold, aluminum, gold, and alloys thereof), the method comprising coating a surface of the metallic substrate with a charge dissipative (CD) polymer, or more particularly, an electrostatically dissipative (BSD) polymer, that inhibits whisker growth on said surface under conditions where whisker growth would otherwise occur. In some embodiments, the CD or BSD polymer does not possess the necessary strength and/or thickness to function as a physical barrier for whisker growth. In particular embodiments, the CD or BSD polymer prevents the onset of whisker formation or growth, thus not requiring the CD or BSD polymer to function as a physical barrier.

摘要: Light weight fibrous veils are incorporated into the uncured composite iace sheets of a tioiieycomb sandwich structure in order to reduce the la teral crushing of the honeycomb (core crush) that occurs during curing of the uncured structure in an autoclave or vacuum bag system. The light weight fibrous veils act as friction-promoting layers to reduce the relative movement of the uncured face sheets that leads to core crush during the curing process.

Diese Aufgabe wird dadurch gelöst, dass die Außenlage (5) eine einzige Schicht (6) aus Elastomer aufweist, in die eine Lücken (9) aufweisende Stützlage (7) derart einbettbar ist, dass das Elastomer ausschließlich durch mechanische Mittel in die Lücken (9) der Stützlage (7) einpressbar ist und mit der Stützlage (7) eine mechanische Verkrallung bildet, wobei die Elastomerschicht (6) eine Dicke aufweist, die mit der Dicke der Stützlage (7) derart korrespondiert, dass die Stützlage (7) mindestens einseitig an die äußere Oberfläche (11) der Außenlage mindestens heranragt. Durch diesen Aufbau der Außenlage (5) ist die Dicke der Außenlage (5) stark reduzierbar. Ein Haftvermittler ist nicht erforderlich. Das Elastomermaterial (6) der Außenlage (5) ist an die Einsatzgebiete des Luftfederbalges und das Material der Stützlage (7) der Außenlage (5) gut anpassbar.
