    摘要: An apparatus for making a composite article includes a monofilament feed track adapted to carry a spaced array of ceramic monofilament strands, a fiber yarn feed track adapted to carry a spaced array of fiber yarn tows impregnated with a plurality of glass particulates, a mandrel, and a heater assembly. The mandrel is adapted to wind together individual glass-impregnated fiber yarn strands and individual ceramic monofilament strands to form a dual-fiber weave. The heater assembly is adapted to heat at least the glass particulates such that pressure from the wound array of ceramic monofilaments is sufficient to consolidate the glass particulates and the dual-fiber weave into a dual-fiber ceramic matrix composite (CMC).

    摘要: Disclosed is a paste composition which enables to adequately obtain a desired BSF effect without lowering the mechanical strength or adhesion of an electrode (8) even when a silicon semiconductor substrate (1) is thin. This paste composition also enables to suppress deformation (warping) of the silicon semiconductor substrate (1) after firing. Also disclosed are an electrode (8) formed by using such a paste composition, and a solar cell device comprising such an electrode (8). Specifically disclosed is a paste composition for forming an electrode on a silicon semiconductor substrate (1) which contains an aluminum powder, an organic vehicle, and a whisker which is insoluble or poorly soluble in the organic vehicle. The whisker is mixed with the aluminum powder and the organic vehicle in advance. Also specifically disclosed is a solar cell device comprising an electrode (8) which is formed by applying such a paste composition on a silicon semiconductor substrate (1) and then firing the applied paste composition.

    摘要: A glass ceramic composition for sealing adjacent metal cassettes in an SOFC stack. The seal composition comprises an alumina-silicate glass ceramic matrix and a ceramic fiber aggregate dispersed in the matrix. Preferably, the fiber is selected from the group consisting of zirconium oxide fiber, alumina fiber, and combinations thereof. Preferably, the fiber is present at 1-60 weight percent with respect to the weight of glass ceramic, preferably about 30 weight percent. Preferably, the zirconia is stabilized by up to about 10% yttria. Alumina fiber may substitute for a portion of the zirconia fiber. Preferably, a green seal is die cut from a green tape sheet formed by extrusion of a slurry comprising water and a latex binder. The green seal is sintered during the final SOFC stack assembly process to form the final stack seal.
