Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) composition with resistance to deterioration in the presence of chlorinated and non-chlorinated water at temperatures in the range of about 0° C. to about 100° C., due to a particular stabilizer system which is composed of a hindered phenol antioxidant, a phosphonite or phosphine antioxidant, and a natural or synthetic hydrotalcite. The stabilizer system is specifically tailored to protect the HDPE as well as other polyolefins against deterioration and degradation.
Abstract:
Polyphase biodegradable compositions having a good resistance to ageing comprising a continuous phase comprising at least one hydrophobic polyester and at least one dispersed phase of polymer of vegetable origin. The hydrophobic polyester constituting the continuous phase is incompatible with the polymer of vegetable origin. The compositions comprise a plasticiser comprising at least 75% of a mixture of diglycerol, triglycerol and tetraglycerol.
Abstract:
Elastomeric compositions containing a combination of selected carbon blacks. The resultant elastomers have improved durability and/or power generation. Such elastomers may be used in oilfield products, for example, as seals or stator liners. Methods of producing these elastomeric compositions are also disclosed.
Abstract:
Described are polyesters comprising (a) a dicarboxylic acid component comprising terephthalic acid residues; optionally, aromatic dicarboxylic acid residues or aliphatic dicarboxylic acid residues; 2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol residues; and 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol residues. The polyesters may be manufactured into articles such as fibers, films, bottles or sheets.
Abstract:
Provided are a rubber composition for tire tread, which exhibits excellent cut and chip resistance and also exhibits excellent abrasion resistance and heat generation resistance performances that are in a trade-off relationship with the cut and chip resistance, and a tire produced using the rubber composition. The rubber composition for tire tread has excellent abrasion resistance and cut and chip resistance, and thus a tire produced using the rubber composition for tire tread can be suitably used in buses or trucks.

The composition contains polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin, a plasticizer, ammonium octamolybdate, a molybdate compound, a stabilizer, a lubricant, aluminum trihydrate, and either i) metal oxide particles, ii) a polytetrafluoroehtylene (PTFE), iii) an intumescent compound, or iv) combinations thereof.
Abstract:
This invention relates to compositions and methods for improving the adhesion of resin compositions to substrate materials, pre-treating substrate materials to improve the adhesion of resin compositions to the substrate materials, and/or controlling gel formation of resin compositions. More particularly, the invention relates to compositions and methods for improving the adhesion of ring opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) compositions to substrate materials using adhesion promoters containing isocyariate groups in a resin composition. The invention also relates to methods for improving the adhesion of resin compositions to substrate materials by pre-treating substrate materials with adhesion promoters containing isocyanate groups. The invention further relates to a method of providing a gel-modified ROMP composition, in which a hydroperoxide is added to a ROMP polymerizable resin composition in order to control gel formation of the polymerizing resin. An improved ROMP composition is further disclosed, comprising a cyclic olefin, a ROMP metathesis catalyst, an adhesion promoter, and an added hydroperoxide gel modifier. The polymer products produced via ROMP reactions of the invention may be utilized for a wide range of materials and composite applications. The invention has utility in the fields of catalysis, organic synthesis, and polymer and materials chemistry and manufacture.
