Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a shaped body comprising lignin which may be further processed into intermediate carbon fibers and finally also carbon fibers. Uses of said fibers are also disclosed. The present invention addresses the problem of lignin leaching into a precipitation bath. The solution to this problem is a novel method for minimizing the loss of lignin through the addition of certain salts into the precipitation bath.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for preparing a modified wood product wherein a step of resin treatment is followed by a thermal modification step. The present invention also relates to a modified wood product produced using said process.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides a laminated wood component (250) for use e.g. as a door frame or window frame. The component presents a cross section and a longitudinal direction (C), perpendicular to the cross section, and a main fiber direction, which is substantially perpendicular to the cross section. The cross section is substantially constant along the longitudinal direction and the laminated wood product is formed of at least two adjacent wood lamellae (20a, 20b). The wood component presents at least one longitudinally extending face, which is perpendicular to the cross section, and which is planed and/or profiled, and the joint plane (JP1, JP2) presents an angle (A2) to the longitudinally extending face, which is greater than 0° and less than 90°.
Abstract:
A method and an arrangement are disclosed for transferring electrically conductive material in fluid form onto a substrate. Said substrate is preheated to a first temperature, and of said electrically conductive material there is produced fluid electrically conductive material. The fluid electrically conductive material is sprayed onto the preheated substrate to form a pattern of predetermined kind. The substrate onto which said fluid electrically conductive material was sprayed is cooled to a third temperature, which is lower than the melting point of said electrically conductive material.
Abstract:
A ply for a paper and paperboard made from a ply substrate material, wherein the ply comprises a hybrid material, in an amount of 1-25 wt-% of the ply, wherein the hybrid material is introduced into a target suspension of the short circulation of a fibrous web forming process of a fibrous web machine, in an in-line process, wherein said target suspension forms the ply substrate material, and the hybrid material comprises an alkaline earth carbonate precipitated onto or into fibers or fibrils of a nanofibrillated polysaccharide.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a shaped tray or plate of fibrous material. The method comprises the steps of (i) providing a fibrous pulp, in which the fibres substantially consist of at least 85 wt-% of softwood fibres having an average fibre length of at least 2.0 mm and at most 15 wt-% of broke having a fibre length of about 0.05 mm to 1.0 mm, (ii) turning the pulp into a foamed suspension, (iii) supplying the foamed suspension from a headbox to a forming fabric of a board machine to form a fibrous web, (iv) drying the web to obtain a dried web having a compressibility in the thickness direction of at least 20%, and (v) including the web as a layer in a board, which is turned to said tray or plate by thermopressing or deep-drawing. The invention even covers shaped trays and plates produced by use of the method.
Abstract:
Method for producing a sterilized foam web, wherein the method comprising the steps of preparing a wet foam (1),feeding the wet foam (1) to a head box (2, 11),distributing the wet foam by the head box (2, 11),treating the wet foam (1) with electron beam radiation (3a, 3b, 3c) to immobilize and sterilize the wet foam (1),receiving the electron beam treated foam on a moving wire (4) to form a foam web (6, 13), pressing and the foam web (6, 13),and drying the foam web (6, 13).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of treating chemical pulp fibers by a polymerizing hydroxy acid, the fibers thus obtained and the products refined from them. In the method, the hydroxy acid reacts with the reactive groups of the fibers in the presence of a catalyst, forming ester bonds. The following units of the same hydroxy acid are oligomerized and/or polymerized to these grafted acid residues. The fibers thus treated and the products refined thereof endure better processing stages that include drawing and stretching than untreated fibers.
Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a container (10) comprising a sealing surface (15), wherein the sealing surface (15) is provided with a pattern (30) of ridges (31, 32) and valleys (33), and wherein the sealing surface (15) has a) oleophobic and/or b) oleophilic properties : a) repelling fat such that any fat on the sealing surface (15) has a tendency not to stick to the pattern (30) on the sealing surface thus creating an essentially fat-free sealing surface or b) attracting fat such that any fat on the sealing surface (15) has a tendency to settle down in the valleys (33) of the pattern (30) on the sealing surface, respectively.
