Abstract:
The invention relates to a coating composition containing a) 20 to 70 wt.-%, particularly 30 to 50 wt.-% of a clay mineral, b) 20 to 70 wt.-%, particularly 30 to 50 wt.-% of an alkali silicate, c) 1 to 30 wt.-%, particularly 5 to 20 wt.-% of a coating polymer, and a method for the production of coated foam particles, and foam bodies produced therefrom, and the use thereof.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for the production of a silicate foam of lower density, which comprises the following steps: (a) partial saponification of an aqueous dispersion of SiO2 particulates which have an average particle diameter ranging from 1 to 100 nm, with a strong base; (b) addition of a surfactant and a blowing agent, and dispersion of the blowing agent at temperatures below 50°C; (c) foaming of the mixture by heating to a temperature ranging from 35° to 100°C or by relieving the pressure; (d) stabilization of the foam obtained in step (c) with a curing agent; (e) sintering of the foam at a temperature above 500°C.
Abstract:
The invention relates to thermoplastic particle foams having cells with an average cell size in the range of 20 to 500 μm, wherein the cell membranes have a nanocellular or fibrous structure with pore or fiber diameters of less than 1500 nm. The invention also relates to a method for producing said particle foams.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a galvanic element containing an open-pored foamed plastic based on a melamine/formaldehyde foamed plastic, the cell pores being completely or partially filled with a free-flowing electrolyte. The invention also relates to a method for producing a battery, accumulator or fuel cell.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a liquid-impregnated foamed plastic part consisting of a) between 1 and 10 % by volume of an aminoplastic-based, open-pored foamed plastic and b) between 90 and 99 % by volume of a component that is liquid at 25°C, such as aromatic or aliphatic hydrocarbons, alcohols, ketones, water or aqueous dispersions, and to the uses of said part for transporting or metering liquids, for freeze-explosion purposes, for projectile energy absorption or as a latent heat accumulator.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for the production of flame-proof, expandable styrene polymers (EPS) or flameproof styrene polymer extrusion foams (XPS). According to the invention, an organic bromine compound having a bromine content of at least 70 wt. % and a liquid peroxide, hydroperoxide or a peroxide solution as a flameproof agent is used as a flame-proof synergist.
