摘要:
A method for extracting proteins from the intercellular space of plants is provided. The method is applicable to the large scale isolation of many active proteins of interest synthesized by plant cells. The method may be used commercially to recover recombinantly produced proteins from plant hosts thereby making the large scale use of plants as sources for recombinant protein production feasible.
摘要:
The present invention relates, inter alia, to compounds that bind tubulin and exhibit anti-mitotic properties and to methods of using such compounds to inhibit abnormal cell mitosis and, in particular, to inhibit tumor cell growth. In addition, methods are presented of treating mammalian diseases associated with undesired and uncontrolled angiogenesis.
摘要:
The present invention relates to viral vectors which are biologically contained, self-replicating and capable of the non-nuclear chromosomal transformation of a host. The viral vectors may contain a heterologous coding sequence adjacent a viral promoter. The invention further relates to viruses containing the viral vectors which a transmissible, i.e. infective. The invention also relates to production cells which are capable of producing the viruses or parts thereof. Host cells are infected by the viruses of the invention. A process for the production of a desired product by growing the infected hosts is also within the scope of the present invention.

Green note compound, such as cis-3-hexen-1-ol, is provided by subjecting linolenic acid and a fresh watermelon foliage to shearing in the presence of an aqueous liquid and yeast. Enzymes within the plant material (i.e., lipoxygenase and hydroperoxide lyase) and the yeast act to cause the linolenic acid to be converted to green note alcohol at a relatively high yield. Green note compound can be provided naturally using a continuous or batch process.
摘要:
Novel enzymatically produced melanins are described that are useful in the treatment of HIV infection. The novel melanins are optionally modified to contain chemical moieties such as halogens, sulfates, or sulfonyl groups. Additionally, the novel enzymatically synthesized melanins may be modified, or further modified, by chemical oxidation.
摘要:
The present invention concerns a viral genetic vector derived from a positive single-stranded virus capable of replication in the cytoplasm of a plant cell. Furthermore, the invention concerns a method of producing a plant cell having reduced expression of a gene of interest and it concerns the plant cell itself. In addition, the present invention concerns a plant comprising a plurality of the plant cells.

The present invention provides methods for rapidly determining the function of nucleic acid sequences by transfecting the same into a host organism to effect expression. Phenotypic and biochemical changes produced thereby are then analyzed to ascertain the function of the nucleic acids which have been transfected into the host organism. The invention also provides methods for silencing endogenous genes by transfecting hosts with nucleic acid sequences to effect expression of the same. The present invention also provides methods for selecting desired functions of RNAs and proteins by the use of virus vectors to express libraries of nucleic acid sequence variants. Moreover, the present invention provides methods for inhibiting an endogenous protease of a plant host.
