摘要: A medical apparatus includes a shaft for insertion into an organ of a patient, an expandable frame, a plurality of diagnostic electrodes, a respective plurality of reference electrodes, and a processor. The expandable frame is coupled to a distal end of the shaft, extending along a longitudinal axis and including a plurality of expandable spines disposed about the longitudinal axis. The plurality of diagnostic electrodes, disposed on external surfaces of the expandable spines, are configured to sense diagnostic signals when in contact with tissue. The respective plurality of reference electrodes, disposed on internal surfaces of the expandable spines directly opposite the diagnostic electrodes, is electrically insulated from the tissue and is configured to sense interfering signals. The processor is configured to receive the diagnostic signals sensed by the diagnostic electrodes, receive the interfering signals sensed by the respective reference electrodes, and calculate corrected diagnostic signals by subtracting the interfering signals from the diagnostic signals.

摘要: An apparatus includes a shaft and an end effector at a distal end of the shaft. The end effector is sized to fit in an anatomical passageway within a subject's cardiovascular system. The end effector includes at least one electrode pair that is configured to contact cardiovascular tissue and thereby pick up electrocardiogram signals. Each electrode pair includes first and second electrodes spaced apart along a longitudinal axis from each other by a gap area located between the electrodes, the gap area having a gap length with respect to the longitudinal axis such that a length of one of the electrodes along the longitudinal axis is equal to or greater than the gap length, and a ratio of an area defined by the gap area to one electrode area is equal to or less than one.

摘要: Disclosed is a device for providing resuscitation or suspended state through redistribution of cardiac output to increase supply to the brain and heart for a patient, the device comprising an electrically controllable redistribution component in the form of a catheter, which is attachable to the patient and being configured to interact with the patient to provide redistribution of the cardiac output to increase supply to the brain and heart, the redistribution component following a predefined reaction pattern based on an electrical signal, and computer means configured to: receive a patient data which identifies physiological and/or anatomical characteristics of the patient; and provide the electrical signal for the redistribution component based on the patient data or a standard response. The device also comprises means for detection of blood vessels and motorized means for introduction of the catheter into an artery. The device may provide mechanisms to protect the aorta and the remaining anatomy of the patient from inadvertent damage caused by the disclosed device in any usage scenario of either correct intended usage or unintended usage.

摘要: A device for internal circumferential ablation of a tubular vascular structure includes an expandable structure having a central opening extending therethrough to allow a relatively unobstructed flow of body fluid through the tubular vascular structure. The expandable structure is expandable from a collapsed configuration to an expanded configuration, with the expandable structure being configured to be secured in a desired location on the tubular vascular structure. The expandable structure further is configured to emit or absorb energy to ablate tissue. A method of circumferential ablation of a terminal segment of a coronary sinus or other vascular structure using a catheter system in order to treat heart rhythm disorders and performing ablation without significant obstruction of blood flow is further disclosed.
