The aim of the invention is to provide medical or sanitary items or devices made from films of polymer/ceramic composite material, which can be used to increase the effectiveness and extend the spectrum of activity of FIR in the prevention and treatment of sanitary and physiological disorders, in the improvement of the physical and/or mental performances of an individual, or in cosmetic treatments. To this end, the invention concerns a multilayer intended to be applied to the body of a living individual in order to transmit and/or return to said body at least one far infrared radiation beam. This multilayer comprises at least two superimposed layers each formed from a composite material consisting of a polymer matrix in which ceramic particles likely to transmit or return at least one far infrared radiation beam are dispersed, at least a portion of these particles preferably being particles made from MnO 2 and particles made from Co 2 O 3 .
