摘要:
A safety-conscious tube joining device capable of self-restoring without damaging the device even when a power supply is cut off during a tube joining operation. The tube joining device is provided with an EEPROM storing information about a tube joining condition, and restoring is effected if a power supply cut-off during tube joining is judged from information about a tube joining condition stored in the EEPROM and from the detection result of a wafer (41) by a wafer position detection sensor (421) when a power supply is turned on. Although the restoring involves reheating the wafer to melt a tube fixed to the wafer (S614, 616), resuming the operation and completing the joining operation (S620-632), an error is displayed on an LCD display to guarantee a joining strength or the like (S634). Safety is ensured by keeping a cooling time locked (S628-632) after wafer heating is stopped.

An energy controller (36) is described for a vibration welder (10) wherein the energy imparted into work-pieces (16, 18) being vibration welded is derived and compared with an energy set point to control the vibration welding operation. After a vibration welding operation has encountered the energy set point the welding operation is stopped and the quality of a weld derived from a comparison with another parameter associated with the vibration welding. The other parameter can be the amount of movement of one of the work-pieces during vibration welding or the time involved to inject the energy into the work-pieces to achieve the vibration weld.

A gasket welding apparatus (10) comprising: a pair of opposed clamping members (16A, 16B) for supporting corresponding first and second lengths of gasket material. The clamping members (16A, 16B) being moveable towards and away from one another by an actuator (58). The gasket welding apparatus (10) comprises a heating element (30), the heating element (30) is moveable between a first position in which it is removed from the clamping members and a second position in which it is disposed between the clamping members.

In a case where an operator stops operation of a pedal, a CPU drives an air cylinder (105) and moves a second pulley (28) from a first position to a second position. When the second pulley moves to the first position, a movable portion (58) of the air cylinder moves downward. A front portion of a belt (27) moves upward. In the first position, the belt and a nozzle (17) clamp a lower cloth (152). When the second pulley moves to the second position, the movable portion of the air cylinder moves upward. The front portion of the belt moves downward. In the second position, the second pulley is separated further from the nozzle than in the first position. Thus, a gap between the lower cloth and the nozzle becomes wider.

The invention relates to a quality control method for ultrasound welding. In order to carry out very sensitive process monitoring, the method provides for the generation of a tolerance range which is adjusted to the progress of the welding process and which is generated from measured values which influence the welding process. According to the invention, a method is proposed for quality control for ultrasound welding, wherein a measured value tolerance range is determined from measured values of executed welding processes, said measured values being associated with at least one parameter which influences the welding process and/or represents the goods of the welding process. Measured values which are associated to an identical parameter of a further welding process following thereafter are considered during the quality monitoring in such a way that the measured value tolerance range is changed in its form or composition to an average value for further welding processes, in accordance with the variance between the additional measured values and the tolerance range determined from previous measured values.

A composite material collation machine (1) and associated method for fiber tape placement and consolidation at a relatively high rate are provided. The composite material collation machine (1) includes a laser diode array (7) for heating at least one fiber tape (2), a compaction device (5) for pressing the fiber tape (2) against a workpiece (4), an inspection system (19) for monitoring the fiber tape (2), and a controller (20). The inspection system (19) produces an output representative of at least one characteristic of the fiber tape (2), and the controller (20) is capable of receiving the output and, based on the output, automatically altering at least one system parameter defining an operational characteristic of the composite material collation machine (1).

A cloth bonding apparatus controls a gear pump to start supplying an adhesive after a second time has elapsed since a worker started pressing down a pedal (73), controls a valve to open a channel after a third time has elapsed since the worker started pressing down the pedal (74), and rotates rollers to feed the cloths after a first time has elapsed after the worker started pressing down the pedal (72). The cloth bonding apparatus controls the valve to close the channel after a sixth time has elapsed after the worker released the pedal (79), controls the gear pump to stop supplying the adhesive after a fifth time has elapsed after the worker released the pedal (78), and stops the rotation of the rollers to stop feeding the cloths after a fourth time has elapsed since the worker released the pedal (77).
