The arrangement comprises means (14) for defining at least two alternative flow paths for exhaust gases from the engine to the outlet, a first with the heat exchanger (13) arranged downstream of the catalytic converter (12) and a second with the heat exchanger (13) arranged upstream of the catalytic converter (12). The determination as to which of said alternative flow paths the exhaust gases are to be conducted in is made on the basis of a measured operating parameter of the exhaust system.

There is described an exhaust gas cleaning apparatus for the cleaning of exhaust gas which originates from a combustion process in a combustion chamber. The exhaust gas cleaning apparatus comprises an exhaust gas flow path which is arranged in fluid communication with the combustion chamber and through which the exhaust gas is flowing, and a cold flame gas supply which provides a cold flame gas. The cold flame gas supply is arranged in fluid communication with the exhaust gas flow path such that the cold flame gas can be injected into the exhaust gas flowing in the exhaust gas flow path and thereby, at least partly, remove impurities such as particulate matter, NOx and hydrocarbons, which are present in the exhaust gas. There is also described a method for cleaning of exhaust gas.

An object of the present invention is to provide a flue gas purifying device that can suppress leakage of ammonia and can efficiently nitrogen- oxides in flue gas. The object is achieved by a flue gas purifying device including: an exhaust pipe; a urea-water injecting unit that injects urea water into the exhaust pipe; a catalytic unit that includes a urea SCR catalyst that promotes a reaction between ammonia and nitrogen oxides and a support mechanism that supports the urea SCR catalyst in the exhaust pipe, and is arranged on a downstream side to a position where urea water is injected; a concentration measuring unit arranged on a downstream side to the catalytic unit in a flow direction of flue gas to measure an ammonia concentration in flue gas having passed through the urea SCR catalyst; and a control unit that controls injection of urea water by the urea-water injecting unit based on an ammonia concentration measured by the concentration measuring unit.

Bei einer Vorrichtung zur Reinigung von Abgasen mit brennbaren und/oder NO x -haltigen Ahgasbestandteilen, vorzugsweise aus mager betriebenen Brennkraftmaschinen ist aus einem Monolith bestehend aus keramischen oder metallischem Material mit rechteckigem Kanalquerschnitt eine Parallelkanalanordnung (16) gebildet ist, bei der jede zweite Kanalreihe als Einströmkanal (6) und jede andere Kanalreihe als Ausströmkanal (7) genutzt wird. Die Ausströmkanäle (7) sind zum Einlassbereich (3) stirnseitig verschlossen und zum Auslassbereich (4) durch durchgehende Schlitze seitlich geöffnet. Ein Gehäuse (5) mit einer Haube (8) und Öffnungen für das ein- und austretende Abgas umgibt den Monolith. Der Einlassbereich (3) ist gegen den Auslassbereich (4) durch eine Dichtungseinrichtung (17) zwischen Monolith und Gehäuse (8) abgedichtet ist und die Anordnung der für die Umwandlung erforderlichen Reinigungskomponenten (15,33,34,35) erfolgt durch Beschichtung der Kanalwände. Der für die Parallelkanalanordnung (16) eingesetzte Monolith ist über der ganzen Länge oder zumindest im Filterbereich (40) aus einer porösen Filterkeramik oder einem porösen, für die Partikelfilterung geeigneten Metall hergestellt. Die Einström- und/oder Ausströmkanäle des Monolithen sind, beginnend am Einlassbereich (3) über die Länge der Wärmetausch- und Katalysatorbereiche (41,42) zumindest weitgehend gasdicht oder mit einer Glasur oder einer entsprechenden Beschichtung gasdicht gemacht. Die Einströmkanäle (6) sind an ihrer zur Haube (8) gerichteten Stirnfläche verschlossen, sodass das Abgas im Filterbereich (40) von den Einströmkanälen (6) in die Ausströmkanäle (7) übertritt und dabei gefiltert wird. Der Abbrand der auf dem Filter abgeschiedenen Partikel wird durch eine im Bereich der Haube (8) in das Filter integrierte elektrische Heizung oder durch das in die Haube (8) zugeführte heiße Brenngas aus einem thermisehen oder katalytischen Brenner (19) bewirkt.
