    摘要： Embodiments of a paint roller support (10) for rotatably supporting a conventional paint roller cover (8) are disclosed. In one embodiment, a paint roller support comprises a frame (12) having an elongated shaft (18) and at least one hub (24, 26) rotatably coupled to the shaft for supporting a conventional roller cover. A locking spring (16) exerts a retaining force against an inner surface (12) of the roller cover for frictionally retaining the roller cover on the hub while the paint roller support is used to deliver paint to a surface. Embodiments of a method for manufacturing a paint roller support also are disclosed.

    摘要： The invention relates to a segmented roll comprised of a plurality of end-to-end mounted roll segments (10, 10'), each adapted to rotate on bearings supported on a separate support shaft (11). In both axial end surfaces of the support shafts (11) of the roll segments (10) there are coupling means such as an annular projection and an annular recess serving to disengageably connect two adjactent roll segments (10) to each other. The support shaft (11) contains of at least two parts (16, 18) whose mutual disposition is made alterable for the purpose of altering the axial length of the support shaft (11) so much that the coupling means (29, 41) of the facing axial ends of two adjacent roll segments (10) can be engaged and disengaged with each other. This arrangement makes it possible to change a single roll segment from the central area of the segmented roll without the need for disassembling the entire row of roll segments.

    摘要： Surface finishing or polishing rollers are made by successively mounting disk-shaped surface finishing elements on a spindle rotating in operation. The surface finishing elements are formed of a slitted, preferably rectangular sheet having a continuous portion of material with lamellae protruding perpendicularly therefrom. The slitted sheet is shape-fixed with binder, and the periphery of the protruding lamellae forms an ellipse. The surface finishing elements, each of which comprises an oval disk with lamellae, are mounted inclined on the shaft of the spindle so that the contour of the successively mounted surface finishing elements forms a cylinder in the axial direction of the spindle.
