    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grease composition which maintains the performance over a long period even in use in a high temperature environment and in a vacuum atmosphere, a roller bearing, and a vacuum pump.
    SOLUTION: The vacuum pump 1 is constituted of a rotor 2 provided with a number of moving blades 2a on the outer circumference and a number of stationary blades 3a on the internal circumference and a cylindrical casing 3 in which the rotor 2 is housed. The rotor 2 is supported on the casing 3 through a roller bearing 4. A grease composition is sealed within the roller bearing 4. The grease composition comprises a thickening agent and a base oil and as the base oil, a high-molecular-weight ester base oil is used.
