PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molded article of a thermally conductive polymer having a high thermal conductivity with which the characteristics of a thermotropic liquid crystal polymer such as electrical insulation and a low density are fully utilized, and a manufacturing process therefor. SOLUTION: The molded article of the thermally conductive polymer is obtained from a thermotropic liquid crystal composition mainly comprising a thermotropic liquid crystal polymer. In the molded article, the rigid molecular chains of the thermotropic liquid crystal polymer are made oriented in a specific direction by impressing a magnetic field or an electric field on the heat melt of the thermotropic liquid crystal composition. The thermal conductivity (λ 1 ) of the molded article of the thermally conductive polymer is set greater than the thermal conductivity (λ 2 ) of the molded article obtained from the thermotropic liquid crystal polymer. The thermal conductivity (λ 1 ) is 0.7-20 W/(mK). Preferably, the thermotropic liquid crystal polymer is at least one kind of wholly aromatic polyesters (A) and wholly aromatic polyester amides (B).
