摘要: The present invention relates to the preparation of compositions and/or ferroelectric ceramic materials having niobate anions in combination with lead, barium, lanthanum, and bismuth cations. In preferred embodiments, the compositions comprised the formula Pb(x-3y/2-3z/2)Ba(1-x)LayBizNb2O6, wherein x is from about 0.4 to about 0.6, y is from about 0.01 to about 0.03, and z is from about 0.01 to about 0.03. The compositions may be easily poled, and have unexpectedly high piezoelectric charge coefficients and unexpectedly high dielectric constants. The invention also provides processes for preparing the compositions, ferroelectric ceramic materials, and articles comprising the ferroelectric ceramic materials.

摘要: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a ceramic material to be readily poled, having strong piezoelectric characteristics by doping lead niobate whose lead is partially substituted with Ba in a specific ratio with Bi and La in a specified ratio. SOLUTION: This ferroelectric ceramic material comprises lead niobate which is shown by the general formula (x is 0.4-0.6; y is 0.01-0.03; z is 0.01-0.03), whose lead is partially substituted with Ba and which is doped with Bi and La and has a high d33 value. Bi and La are doped only at a lead position and a barium site remains without being disarranged. Oxides of Pb, Ba, La, Bi and Nb are mixed in a fixed ratio in 4-6% excessive amount of lead oxide and calcined at 800-900 deg.C for 2-6 hours. The formed product is cooled, ground, mixed with a binder into a pellet, sintered in the air at 1,250-1,280 deg.C for 1-1.5 hours to form a sintered disk. Both the sides of the disk are coated with a silver paste, fired and subjected to poling by corona discharge to give the objective ferroelectric ceramic material.

摘要: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain at low cost improved in polarization breakdown voltage and moisture resistance, and suppressed in mutual welding, by incorporating a piezoelectric ceramic with zirconia greater in average particle size than the piezoelectric ceramic followed by sintering. SOLUTION: First, a piezoelectric ceramic is prepared by mixing stock powders therefor followed by preliminarily baking the mixed powder and then disaggregating the baked product so as to effect 0.5-9.0 μm in average particle size. Secondly, the piezoelectric ceramic is incorporated with a binder and 0.1-3.0 wt.% of granular zirconia 10-30 μm in average granular size followed by molding the mixture into a molded form. Finally, the molded form is sintered to obtain the objective piezoelectric sintered compact 1 where the piezoelectric ceramic 2 is dispersed with the granular zirconia 5 greater in average granular size than the piezoelectric ceramic. The other objective piezoelectric ceramic device 9 is obtained by providing electrodes 7 on both the main surfaces of this sintered compact 1.
