    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a protein which has a molecular weight of 10,000 or less and an antithrombotic action and a thrombolytic action, and enables safe oral intake as an urgent necessity. SOLUTION: A method for preparing the protein which is extracted from Grifola of an edible mushroom with water or an aqueous solution, has a molecular weight of about 9,000, has an antithrombotic action and a thrombolytic action, and is composed of an amino acid sequence containing a substitution, a deficiency, an insertion, an addition or an inversion of one or a few amino acids in the N-terminal or part of the amino acid sequence described in Sequence No. 1 comprises subjecting the above protein or an extracted solution of Grifola to salting-out or solvent precipitation treatment, dissolving the obtained salting-out product or precipitate in a buffer solution, and treating the resulting solution by chromatography.
