Abstract:
A networked gaming system is disclosed that includes location detection and dispatcher servers operative together with one or more wireless personal digital (PDK) devices communicating with receiver/decoders (RDCs) for tracking and communicating with casino employees and patrons throughout the casino. An employee and patron tracking system in a casino is disclosed wherein beverage and other service staff are properly assigned, dispatched to the right patron or location and can be located and tracked throughout various transactions.
Abstract:
Disclosed are gaming machines, gaming systems and methods including stored value cards. Networked gaming systems are described which include one or more gaming machines with a stored value card acceptor, casino and/or slot management systems with a stored value server for authenticating stored value cards, verifying stored value, and updating value associated with the stored value cards, and a kiosk system for issuing, validating, and accounting for value associated with updateable stored value cards. The stored value server may also be configured to accept and enforce issuance and redemption rules such as providing for discounted purchase and enhanced redemption.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present information relate to a method and apparatus for providing interactive text messages to a user's device during a voice call. In one embodiment, information is received from a client and at least a portion of the received information is converted into a text format. Non-converted information is transmitted to the user's device on a voice portion of a communications channel and the converted information is transmitted to the user's device on a data control portion of the communications channel. Accordingly, interactive text messages are presented to a user's device during a voice call.
Abstract:
A golf club head is configured to be coupled to a shaft adapted for being held in the hands of a user. The golf club head includes a strike face comprising an alloy that has a low coefficient of friction bonded to the strike face.
Abstract:
A system manages a progressive jackpot associated with designated gaming machines. The progressive jackpot is funded from a source of funds, and at a funding rate, independent of the paytables of the associated gaming machines. The system determines whether a player playing the associated gaming machine is eligible for the progressive jackpot using player eligibility rules, and further selects a winning player from among the eligible players (or from the associated gaming machines). The system uses funding rate rules to control the rate at which the progressive jackpot is incremented.
Abstract:
A base metal repair tape includes a first layer formed braze alloy bonded together with fibrillated polytetrafluoroethylene, a second layer formed from powdered base metal comprising oxygen-sensitive superalloy bonded together by fibrillated polytetrafluoroethylene and a third layer comprising a brazing alloy bonded together by fibrillated polytetrafluoroethylene. This is used to repair base metal by placing the first layer on the base metal and brazing the base metal powder so that the brazing alloy melts and diffuses into the base metal powder bonding it to the surface of the article. This permits the braze powder to be bonded to the base metal surface with minimal distance between the base powder particles. The number of alternating layers of base metal and braze alloy can be increased to increase the thickness of the repair. This can also be used to form small intricate parts.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to nutrient compositions containing dipeptides and methods for administering the same. In particular, according to the present invention, a nutrient composition comprising an aqueous solution having at least one dipeptide with an N-terminal amino acid selected from the class consisting of glutamine, asparagine, tyrosine, tryptophan, and aspargine is provided. Glutamine (4.8 grams/100 ml at 30.degree. C.), asparagine (3.5 grams/100 mL at 28.degree. C.), tyrosine (0.45 grams/100 mL at 25.degree. C.) and tryptophan (11.4 grams/100 mL at 25.degree. C.) and arginine (15.0 grams/100 mL at 21.degree. C.) are all less soluble in water than glycine (25 grams/100 mL at 25.degree. C.). The C-terminal amino acid is selected from the group consisting of alanine, glycine, tryptophan, arginine, proline and serine. The nutritional solutions contain from about 0.1 to 25.0 percent by weight of oligopeptides, preferably about 0.5 to 5.0 percent by weight.
Abstract:
An enteral diet for patients with pulmonary disease comprising not less than 18% of said calories from a high quality protein source; from about 20 to 50% of said calories from a slowly metabolizable carbohydrate source derived from maltodextrin or other partially hydrolyzed polysaccharides; from about 40-55% calories from a mixture of lipids comprising medium and long chain triglycerides.
Abstract:
Synthetic polyesters are employed as calorie sources for parenteral or enteral nutrition. The polyesters are hydrolyzed and respired by the body and offer the advantage of high calorie density when compared to conventional or other synthetic calorie sources.
Abstract:
A system, method and apparatus is provided for a system in which a gaming machine triggers system events. The gaming machine may send messages to a server. The server may then process messages, and may send messages back to the gaming machine. Additionally, the server may send messages to other gaming machines also coupled to the server. The messages may concern bonuses, announcements of gaming events, and opportunities for tournament play, among other information. Thus, a gaming event (such as a jackpot or a good poker hand) may trigger a bonus or a tournament, for example. Additionally, messages may be sent to other components, such as audio and/or video components, which may then announce gaming events, for example.
