Also disclosed is a self-healing coating composition comprising (a) a film-forming binder; and (b) metallic microcapsules, the metallic microcapsules being the same or different and containing a polymeric microcapsule containing one or more polymeric precursors encapsulated therein; and a metallic shell enclosing a volume containing the polymeric microcapsule.

摘要: There are provided a sliding member that is enhanced in adhesiveness between the surface of a base member formed of aluminum or aluminum alloy and silver coating with a simple construction, and a method of manufacturing the sliding member. In a piston 1 having a sliding face 22 which slides in a cylinder bore 3, a silver coating layer 21 constituting the sliding face 22 is provided on the outer peripheral surface 11 of a main body 10 formed of aluminum alloy, and the silver coating layer 21 is formed by coating slurry having silver particles 23 dispersed in terpineol on the outer peripheral surface 11 of the main body 10 and heating the coated slurry and the main body 10 to remove terpineol in the slurry and fuse the silver particles 23 with one another.

摘要: The present invention comprises methods and compositions comprising metal nanoparticles. The invention comprises metal nanoparticles and surfaces treated with a metal nanoparticle coating. The present invention further comprises compositions for preparing nanoparticles comprising at least one stabilizing agent, one or more metal compounds, at least one reducing agent and a solvent. In one aspect, the stabilizing agent comprises a surfactant or a polymer. The polymer may comprise polymers such as polyacrylamides, polyurethanes, and polyamides. In one aspect, the metal compound comprises a salt comprising a metal cation and an anion. The anion may comprise saccharinate derivatives, long chain fatty acids, and alkyl dicarboxylates.

摘要: This invention provides novel nanofiber enhanced surface area substrates and structures comprising such substrates for use in various medical devices, as well as methods and uses for such substrates and medical devices. In one particular embodiment, methods for enhancing cellular functions on a surface of a medical device implant are disclosed which generally comprise providing a medical device implant comprising a plurality of nanofibers (e.g., nanowires) thereon and exposing the medical device implant to cells such as osteoblasts.

The invention also includes articles prepared from the flame-retardant composition, such as extruded sheets, thermoformed sheets, injection-molded articles, coated fabrics, roofing membranes, and wall coverings.

摘要: An aluminizing composition includes an aluminum-based powder, an inert organic pyrolysable thickener, and a binder selected from the group consisting of colloidal silica, at least one organic resin, and combinations thereof. A method for aluminizing an internal passage of a metal substrate comprises injecting the organic-based aluminizing composition into the internal passage, heat treating the composition under conditions sufficient to remove volatile components from the composition, to cause diffusion of aluminum into surface regions of the internal passage, and to cause decomposition of at least some pyrolysable thickener particles, and burnishing excess material from the internal passage.

摘要: The present invention relates to thermally conductive, elastomeric pads and methods for manufacturing such pads. The methods involve injection-molding a thermally conductive composition comprising about 30 to 60% by volume of an elastomer polymer matrix and about 25 to 60% by volume of a thermally conductive filler material. The resultant pads have heat transfer properties and can be used as a thermal interface to protect heat-generating electronic devices.
