摘要: A method, apparatus and computer program product for managing content sessions within a network is presented. The systems disclosed herein are able to detect a requirement to modify bandwidth usage within the network either proactively or reactively. In response, example embodiments apply an adaptive bit rate adjustment technique to the content sessions to adjust a data rate associated with each content session according to the requirement to modify bandwidth usage within the network. Example embodiments also then apply a quality of service adjustment technique to the content sessions to adjust a bandwidth allocation assigned between a client and server based upon the adaptive bandwidth adjustment technique. Application of the adaptive bit rate and quality of service adjustment techniques may be policy based. Example embodiments also may monitor a plurality of servers supporting content sessions, detect a failure at a first server and move content sessions to a second server.

摘要: A method and system is disclosed for automatically discovering Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP) nodes a network in real time. The discover process transmits a signal from a network manager to a first CDP node of the network. The signal requests information regarding additional CDP nodes known to the first node. The network manger receives a response is that identifies additional CDP nodes known to the first CDP node. The transmitting and receiving steps are then repeated for each additional CDP node identified. A list containing information of all identified nodes is then stored.

摘要: Methods of directly isolating nucleic acid from an embedded biological sample are provided. An emulsified digest is generated in the presence of a thermostable protease, and an additive selected from an alkylene glycol, a poly(alkylene glycol), or a block copolymer having an average Mn of 76 to 2900, or a salt or derivative or combination thereof. Nucleic acid is isolated directly from the emulsified digest. The methods eliminate the use of organic solvents such as xylene in a deparaffinization step prior to isolating nucleic acids from paraffin-embedded samples, for example.

摘要: Techniques disclosed herein include systems and methods that provide a workflow-based session manager or workflow engine for a content delivery system, such as for delivering video-on-demand, streaming audio, streaming video, etc. Such techniques increase velocity and flexibility of deploying new features and services in a video delivery system. Techniques include a session management model provides a service-oriented and workflow-based approach. As a service-oriented approach, each functional session management step can be represented as a business service. As a workflow-based solution, a sequence of steps to be performed can be defined as data, rather than being hard-coded inside an application. Defined as data, steps (nodes, tasks) can then be created and changed using a graphical editor. New services can be added by defining actions for the new service, and adding a node to a given session management workflow sequence. Techniques include a workflow engine that initiates session management in realtime.

摘要: Protective relay apparatus is constructed of an operating unit that is withdrawable from its insulating housing through an opening at the front thereof. A plurality of sets of shorting contacts and a plurality of plug-type disconnect contacts are mounted to the rear wall of the housing and extend forward therefrom. Mounted on the drawout unit rear panel are a plurality of receptacle-type contacts that receive and cooperate with the disconnect contacts when the drawout unit is inserted fully within the housing. At that time blade means mounted in the drawout unit are interposed between contact sections of the respective sets of shorting contacts to separate contact portions of the latter. Each blade means includes an insulating layer interposed between conducting layers that are engaged with the respective contact sections of the shorting contacts to connect these contact sections in circuit with lumped elements forming part of the drawout unit. The elements of the cooperating disconnect contacts and the shorting contacts with their respective cooperating blade means are constructed and operatively positioned so that contact making and breaking is in a predetermined sequence that protects circuit elements from damage and eliminates false tripping.
