    摘要: A display apparatus includes a backlight unit generating light, a display panel including a plurality of pixels controlling transmittance of the light based upon pixel data, a timing controller compensating the pixel data, and a data driver driving the display panel based upon the compensated pixel data. The display panel includes a first area to which the light having a first brightness is supplied and a second area to which the light having a second brightness lower than the first brightness is supplied. The timing controller compensates for the pixel data supplied to at least one area of the first and second areas using a predetermined compensation value to reduce a brightness difference between the first and second areas.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is a touch panel, including: a base substrate divided into an active area, a bezel area surrounding the active area, and a connection area provided outside the bezel area; sensing electrodes formed in the active area; and electrode wirings connected to the sensing electrodes and extended to the connecting area. Here, a predetermined portion of the base substrate is cut and the connection area is folded by using the predetermined portion as a boundary line such that the connection area is protruded outwardly from the base substrate. According to the present invention, the connection area is provided in the base substrate in a single body, thereby allowing omission of separate flexible printed cables, and thus, an attaching process of the flexible printed cable can also be omitted.

    摘要: In a display apparatus according to an embodiment, a variable diffuser film is disposed between a backlight unit generating light and a display panel displaying an image. The variable diffuser film transmits or scatters the light from the backlight unit in response to an electrical signal to control a viewing angle. The variable diffuser film is disposed between the first and second transparent layers and includes a polymer layer in which liquid crystal molecules transmitting or scattering the light according to the electrical signal are dispersed. The polymer layer has a thickness of about 3 micrometers to about 15 micrometers, and the liquid crystal molecules have an anisotropic refractive index (Δn) of about 0.15 to about 0.25. In one aspect, the display apparatus may automatically switch a narrow viewing angle mode and a wide viewing angle mode, thereby reducing power consumption necessary to switch the narrow and wide viewing angle modes.
