摘要:
In one embodiment, non-contact assessment of reinforced concrete is performed by positioning a reference electrode in close proximity to a surface of the concrete without contacting the electrode to the surface, vibrating the electrode with a vibration generator, and measuring the electrical potential difference between the electrode and the concrete surface, the potential difference being indicative of the condition of a portion of a reinforcement member positioned below the concrete surface at the location of the electrode.

In one aspect, a method of precisely loading a component into an injection mold is disclosed. The method includes packing a component into a first receptacle in a nest plate assembly. The nest plate assembly is in a packing position during packing. The method includes transferring the nest plate assembly from the packing position to a loading position via a guide rail system. The guide rail system includes a guide rail that extends from the packing position to the loading position. The method includes precision aligning the first receptacle with a second receptacle in a mold cavity. The method includes loading the component from the first receptacle into the second receptacle.

Certain novel 4-substituted N-acylated piperidine derivatives are agonists of the human melanocortin receptor(s) and, in particular, are selective agonists of the human melanocortin-4 receptor (MC-4R). They are therefore useful for the treatment, control, or prevention of diseases and disorders responsive to the activation of MC-4R, such as obesity, diabetes, sexual dysfunction, including erectile dysfunction and female sexual dysfunction.

A novel, collapsible container is provided which features container side walls and end walls that have a closed, multi-paneled element forming at least a portion of the wall. The closed wall element is formed from an exterior panel and an interior panel that are joined along top, side and bottom seams of the panel, preferably by hot plate welding, to form a closed, multi-paneled side or end wall element. In more detailed aspects of the invention, the side or end walls incorporate a windowed construction, which includes a window having a seam surrounding a single panel window area.

Technique including a method 400 and an apparatus 100 for chemical mechanical polishing using a plurality of carrier devices 123 rotatably coupled to a turret means. The apparatus 100 includes a turret and plurality of rotatable polishing surfaces 111 positioned around the turret. The apparatus also includes a plurality of carrier devices 123 rotatably coupled to the turret, where the carrier devices 123 are each adapted to hold a workpiece to be polished on at least one of the rotatable polishing surfaces. Each of the carrier devices is operably independently to each other during a process for chemical mechanical polishing.

A polymeric article having isotropic properties is fabricated from anisotropic materials by orienting the polymer, as well as any fillers, in different directions at different planes through the polymeric article. In a first embodiment, molten polymer is passed between movable gate members (32 and 34) into cavity (30) of mold (28). The movable gate members (32 and 34) impart a strain on the molten polymer by moving in opposite directions (33 and 35) while the molten polymer is dispensed into the cavity (30). Reciprocating the movable gate members (32 and 34) yields a herringbone pattern. Having at least one movable gate member (38) have comb-like projections (40) can assure the strain is imparted deeper into the thickness of the polymeric article. In a second embodiment, molten polymer is passed through movable gates (96 and 100) on perpendicular sides of a mold cavity (94 and 98) where one movable gate (96) is located towards the top of the mold (84) and the other movable gate (100) is located towards the bottom of the mold (84). The gates (94 and 98) are simultaneously driven in directions (68 and 70) along their respective cavity sides while injecting polymer into the cavity. The finished article has a top layer (56) has polymer oriented (58) in a first direction and a bottom layer (52) with polymer oriented (54) in a perpendicular direction. Polymer is randomly oriented (62) between the top and bottom layer (56 and 52).
