Abstract: An endoprosthesis may include an expandable framework configured to shift between a delivery configuration and a deployed configuration, and a covering including a plurality of polymeric cover segments disposed about at least a portion of the expandable framework. A portion of each of the plurality of polymeric cover segments may be fixedly attached to the expandable framework. The plurality of polymeric cover segments is longitudinally spaced apart from each other in the delivery configuration. Abstract: An example stent delivery system is disclosed. The example stent delivery system includes an outer shaft having a distal end region, an inner surface and a lumen extending therein. The delivery system also includes an inner shaft extending within the outer shaft lumen, the inner shaft having a stent receiving region disposed along a distal end region thereof. Additionally, the delivery system includes a stent disposed along the stent receiving region and a braided member positioned radially outward from an outer surface of the stent and radially inward from the inner surface of the outer shaft, the braided member being attached to an outer surface of the inner member proximal of the stent. Additionally, the delivery system includes a plurality of tether members coupled to the braided member, wherein longitudinal retraction of the outer shaft relative to the inner shaft exposes the stent from the braided member.

The medical stent may further include a control region between the first and second portions, wherein in a first configuration the hollow tubular elongate structure of the control region is in a closed, twisted configuration, and wherein in a second configuration the hollow tubular elongate structure of the control region is in an open, expanded configuration.

Abstract: An illustrative stent may include a tubular member defined by at least one knitted filament forming a plurality of twisted knit stitches with rungs extending circumferentially between radially adjacent twisted knit stitches, where each twisted knit stitch is interconnected with a longitudinally adjacent twisted knit stitch forming a series of linked stitches. The tubular member may be implanted to connect two spaced apart anatomical locations within the digestive tract, moving between a relaxed configuration and an elongated configuration. The tubular member has a first longitudinal length in the relaxed configuration and a second longitudinal length in the elongated configuration, and the first longitudinal length is less than the second longitudinal length.

Abstract: A medical instrument may include a tube, a sheath provided around and coaxial with the tube, and an inflatable balloon at a distal end of the sheath. The balloon may receive a fluid from a lumen of the sheath, and may have a central opening along a longitudinal axis thereof, and into which the tube extends, a proximal portion, a middle portion adjacent to and distal of the proximal portion, and a distal portion adjacent to and proximal of the middle portion. When the balloon is inflated with the fluid, a maximum diameter of the middle portion may be less than a maximum diameter of the proximal portion, and less than a maximum diameter of the distal portion. The medical instrument may also include an extraction member provided at a distal end of the tube, distal to the balloon, and movable axially relative to the balloon.
