    Abstract: In an apparatus for controlling a vehicle equipped with an autonomous sensor and a communication unit, an object detector is configured to determine whether a predefined mobile-object condition is met, where the predefined mobile-object condition indicates that a mobile object detected from detection information received from an external device via the communication unit and a mobile object detected from detection information acquired from the autonomous sensor are the same object. An occupant assister is configured to perform occupant assistance for assisting an occupant of the vehicle, and configured to, in response to a detection accuracy condition being met, determine a mode of occupant assistance as a first mode, and in response to neither the detection accuracy condition nor the mobile-object condition being met, determine the mode of occupant assistance as a second mode is different from the first mode.

    Abstract: In an apparatus for assisting driving a vehicle, an error calculation unit calculates errors in first information representing a driving state of the vehicle based on the first information and second information including at least one of surroundings information and external location information of the vehicle. An error correction unit corrects for the errors in the first information. If error correction performed by the error correction unit is completed, a location estimation unit estimates a location of the vehicle based on the first information corrected for the errors. A driving assistance unit performs driving assistance for the vehicle based on the location of the vehicle estimated by the location estimation unit. If error correction performed by the error correction unit is completed, a process change unit changes a process of a specific type of driving assistance performed by the driving assistance unit.

    Abstract: Provided is a vehicle braking support device. The braking support device includes: detection units for detecting a state around a host vehicle; a braking support control unit for executing braking support by a braking device according to the detected state; and a vehicle stop control unit for maintaining a stopped state of a host vehicle after the host vehicle is stopped by the braking support control unit, and for releasing the stopped state of the host vehicle after a predetermined period has elapsed. The vehicle stop control unit, in a case where by using the detected state it is determined that it is desirable to maintain the stopped state of the host vehicle beyond the predetermined period, the vehicle stop control unit does not release the stopped state of the host vehicle until an operation by a driver is detected.

    Abstract: A driving assist ECU acquires, based on an image, positions of at least two specific points of an object that are different in a lateral direction with respect to a vehicle traveling direction. The driving assist ECU also performs collision avoidance control for avoiding a collision with the object based on a movement track of the object obtained from a history of the positions of the specific points, and calculates, for each of the specific points, a movement direction of each of the specific points based on the history of the position of each of the specific points. The driving assist ECU then changes how to perform the collision avoidance control based on a difference between the movement directions at the respective specific points.

    Abstract: The driving support device executes self-position estimation of an own vehicle by odometry. In the case where landmarks around the own vehicle are detected, the driving support device corrects the self-position and creates an environment map. Next, the driving support device estimates the correction accuracy of the estimated self-position. In the case where the correction accuracy is high, the driving support device selects a first operating mode of driving support. In the case where the correction accuracy is low and the accuracy of odometry is also low, the driving support device selects a second operating mode of driving support. The second operating mode is a mode in which the degree of driving support is lower than that in the first operating mode.

    Abstract: An ECU sets, as a movement direction of an object relative to an own vehicle, a first direction in which recognition accuracy of a recognition result is high and a second direction in which the recognition accuracy is lower than that in the first direction. The ECU includes: a movement determination section which determines whether movement of a target is movement in the first direction or movement in the second direction; a first type determination section which determines the type of the object based on the recognition result during the movement in the first direction, when the movement is the movement in the first direction; and a second type determination section which determines the type of the object by using a determination history stored by the first type determination section, when the movement has changed from the movement in the first direction to the movement in the second direction.
