Abstract: The present disclosure provides a composition. In embodiment, the composition is a crosslinkable composition and includes an ethylene-based polymer, a polyaminosiloxane (PAS), and optionally a peroxide. The polyaminosiloxane (PAS) has the Formula (I) [RSi(OZ)2O1/2]q [RSi(OZ)O2/2]m [RSiO3/2]n wherein R is a C6-C20 aminoalkyl group with a phenyl moiety, Si is a silicon atom, O is an oxygen atom, Z is a hydrogen atom or a C1-C10 hydrocarbonyl group, q, m, and n each individually is Rr an integer from 2 to 1,000,000; and 1/2 denotes an end block structure of Formula (II), 2/2 denotes a linear structure of Formula (III), and 3/2 denotes a branched structure of Formula (IV). Also disclosed is a crosslinked composition formed from the crosslinkable composition.

Abstract: Silane-crosslinkable polymeric compositions comprising a polyolefin having hydrolyzable silane groups, an acidic silanol condensation catalyst, and a phenolic antioxidant. The phenolic antioxidant has a phenol-based moiety fused with a cyclic ether where the oxygen atom of the cyclic ether is located in the para position relative to the hydroxyl group of the phenol-based moiety. Such crosslinkable polymeric compositions can be employed in various articles of manufacture, such as in the wire and cable industry.

Abstract: The process for making extra high voltage cable insulation is improved by using a composition comprising in weight percent based on the weight of the composition: (A) 95 to 99.9% of an ethylene-based polymer; (B) 0.2 to 2.5% peroxide; (C) 0.01 NI to 0.5% of a sulfur-containing first antioxidant having at least one —S(CH2)2CO2R group, wherein R is a C6 to C20 alkyl; (D) 0.001 to 0.009%) of a phosphorus-containing second antioxidant that does not contain a —S(CH2)2C02R group, wherein R is a C6 to C20 alkyl; (E) Optionally, an organic nitrogenous base; and (F) Optionally, a phenolic third antioxidant that does not contain a —S(CH2)2C02R group, wherein R is a C6 to C20 alkyl.

Abstract: Processes for making cables and cable cores having a crosslinked insulation layer. The processes comprise (a) providing an initial cable core having a conductor, a first semiconductive layer, an initial insulation layer comprising a crosslinkable polymeric composition, and a second semiconductive layer, and (b) subjecting the initial cable core to a crosslinking process. The crosslinkable polymeric composition comprises an ethylene-based polymer, an organic peroxide, and a polyallyl crosslinking coagent. The polyallyl crosslinking coagent and the organic peroxide are present in amounts sufficient to provide an allyl-to-active oxygen molar ratio of less than 1.2.
