Abstract: Certain embodiments are described that provide a method and computer readable media for testing battery cells. A unique identifier (e.g., barcode) is affixed to a battery cell which allows it to be tracked across separate tests as a cell, in a module, string, pack, etc. Using a GUI, the unique identifier is recorded in a database along with at least a battery cell manufacturer and a battery cell model. A designation of the particular tester channel or module or string location is entered into the database in association with the unique identifier. Test results of the first test are electronically transferred from the first tester to the database along with the corresponding channel designations.

Abstract: Serial communication verification and safety control is disclosed. A multi-part system such as a battery management system can include distributed or subsidiary components for determining status of various parts of the system with the components in serial or point-to-point communication with a collective main controller. A safety controller can be implemented to passively be coupled to the serial or point-to-point communication between the main controller and the subsidiary units. The safety controller can monitor and verify the communication between the main controller and the subsidiary units and send a safety command or verification indicator in another line of communication separate from the communication bus between the main controller and the subsidiary units.

Abstract: Certain embodiments are described that provide a method for remotely monitoring vehicle electronic networks and predicting failures. Electronic module status data is received, remotely from a vehicle, from a plurality of modules on a vehicle electronic network in the vehicle. The status data for a plurality of vehicles is collected. The status data includes information indicative of potential future failure. The status data is correlated from the plurality of modules in the vehicle, for each of the plurality of vehicles, to provide correlated status data for each vehicle. The correlated status data is analyzed for the plurality of vehicles to identify a probable location of a potential failure in the at least one vehicle electronic network.
