A halogen-free flameproofed thermoplastic molding material consists of a halogen-free thermoplastic resin (A) and one or more further halogen-free components.The thermoplastic resin (A) is present in an amount of from 30 to 90% by weight, based on the molding material. The latter contains, as further components, from 1 to 50% by weight of a phenol/aldehyde resin (B), from 1 to 50% by weight of a nitrogen-containing organic compound (C) and from 3 to 50% by weight of a phosphorus-containing organic compound (D), the percentages in each case being based on the molding material.The molding material is used for the production of flameproofed moldings.

The invention relates to a method for the preparation of cellular polyurethane elastomers with densities of approximately 250 to 800 grams per liter by reacting 4,4'-diisocyanato-1,2-diphenylethane or a diisocyanato-1,2-diphenylethane isomer mixture with a 4,4'-diisocyanato-1,2-diphenylethane content of more than 95 percent by weight with higher molecular weight polyhydroxyl compounds and water, as well as optionally chain extenders in the presence of auxiliaries and/or additives according to the one-shot or preferably the prepolymer method in closed molds.Compared with products based on 4,4'-diisocyanatodiphenylmethane, the polyurethane elastomer molded parts have improved physical and thermal properties.

Polyurethane-urea elastomers with improved temperature characteristics, in particular improved low temperature properties, good mechanical properties over a large temperature range and excellent resistance to hydrolysis, are obtained by reacting(A) a prepolymer, possessing cycloaliphatic NCO groups, which has been prepared from essentially difunctional polyhydroxy compounds and organic diisocyanates possessing at least one NCO group bonded to a cycloaliphatic structure, these reactants being used so as to give a ratio of total hydroxyl: NCO groups of from 1:1.2 to 1:10, with(B) 3,3',5,5'-tetramethyl-4,4'-diamino-diphenylmethane, A and B being reacted in the molar ratio of from 1:0.8 to 1:1.2.
