Abstract: A method of selecting primary and secondary cellular networks for a vehicle comprises measuring cellular connectivity parameters for cellular communication between a first subscriber identity module (SIM) and a first cellular network and for cellular communication between a second SIM and a second cellular network, comparing measured cellular connectivity parameters for the first SIM to measured cellular connectivity parameters for the second SIM, designating one of the first SIM and the first cellular network and the second SIM and the second cellular network as a primary network, and designating the other one of the first SIM and the first cellular network and the second SIM and the second cellular network as a secondary network, measuring cellular connectivity parameters for the primary and secondary networks, comparing the measured cellular connectivity parameters for the primary and secondary networks, switching designation of the primary and secondary network based on measured cellular connectivity parameters.

Abstract: A telematics controller, a second controller, a dual-function audio speaker, and a switch are included. The telematics controller is in communication with a first microphone. The telematics controller includes a first amplifier, and is configured to communicate with a remote facility. The second controller includes a second amplifier and a second microphone. The switch is arranged in the telematics controller, and an electrical link is arranged between the second controller and the telematics controller. The dual-function audio speaker is selectively connectable to the second amplifier via the switch and the electrical link. The dual-function audio speaker is also selectively connectable to the first amplifier via the switch. The switch is operatively controlled by the telematics controller, and the telematics controller is operative to control the switch to control the dual-function audio speaker to effect wireless audio communication between the vehicle and the remote facility.

Abstract: A system and method of selecting a modem for cellular communications while the vehicle is in a primary propulsion off state. The method includes: detecting a transition from a primary propulsion on state to a primary propulsion off state of the vehicle; after detecting the transition from the primary propulsion on state to the primary propulsion off state, measuring one or more cellular connectivity parameters for a plurality of modems included in the vehicle; based on the cellular connectivity parameter(s), selecting a modem of the plurality of modems; after selecting the modem of the plurality of modems, then turning off non-selected modem(s) of the plurality of modems, wherein the non-selected modem(s) include the plurality of modems other than the selected modem; and sending a selected modem indication to a remote server, wherein the selected modem indication indicates to the remote server to use the selected modem when sending messages to the vehicle.

Abstract: One general aspect includes a method of detecting vehicle movement, the method including: (a) measuring, via a controller, one or more signal variables as a first variable data set; (b) at some duration of time after the first variable data set is measured, via the controller, measuring the one or more signal variables as a second variable data set; (c) comparing, via the controller, the first and second variable data sets; (d) determining, via the controller, if substantial differences exist between the first and second variable data sets; (e) when it is determined that substantial differences exist between the first and second variable data sets, via the controller, generating a notification configured to indicate vehicle movement has been detected.
