摘要: A system and a method for establishing short range wireless communication between two vehicle modules. The system determines the availability of a first vehicle module and a second vehicle module to establish a short range wireless communication connection. The determination may be based upon whether the first vehicle module is storing pairing data. The system validates the pairing data at the second vehicle module using a wired connection. If the pairing data is validated, the first and second vehicle modules may establish a wireless connection using at least a portion of the pairing data. When the wireless connection ends, the system may re-determine the availability and revalidate any pairing data via the wired connection before establishing a wireless connection.

摘要: A location assistance system includes a distress vehicle and multiple assistance vehicles. The distress vehicle broadcasts an emergency signal. The assistance vehicles are operable to receive the emergency signal, determine multiple distances to the distress vehicle, triangulate among the assistance vehicles to generate a spatial map of the distress vehicle relative to the assistance vehicles, determine one or more approximately horizontal lines in the spatial map that include the distress vehicle and at least one horizontally aligned assistance vehicle in response to the distress vehicle and the at least one horizontally aligned assistance vehicle being on a same vertical level in the spatial map, coordinate among the assistance vehicles to determine one or more horizontal sequences along the one or more approximately horizontal lines, and flash the of the assistance vehicles in the one or more horizontal sequences to lead toward the distress vehicle.

摘要: A method of selecting primary and secondary cellular networks for a vehicle comprises measuring cellular connectivity parameters for cellular communication between a first subscriber identity module (SIM) and a first cellular network and for cellular communication between a second SIM and a second cellular network, comparing measured cellular connectivity parameters for the first SIM to measured cellular connectivity parameters for the second SIM, designating one of the first SIM and the first cellular network and the second SIM and the second cellular network as a primary network, and designating the other one of the first SIM and the first cellular network and the second SIM and the second cellular network as a secondary network, measuring cellular connectivity parameters for the primary and secondary networks, comparing the measured cellular connectivity parameters for the primary and secondary networks, switching designation of the primary and secondary network based on measured cellular connectivity parameters.

摘要: A telematics module includes modems and a modem selecting module, which communicates with a network device according to a SCTP. The modem selecting module includes RAT network and signal status modules. The RAT network module determines a RAT network availability status of each of the modems. The signal status module determines signal quality status parameters of each of the modems. The modem selecting module: determines which one of the modems has a higher data throughput based on the RAT network availability status and the signal quality status parameters of each of the modems; sets the one of the modems with the higher data throughput as an active modem and sets another modem as inactive, such that the another modem is in at least one of a standby or backup mode; and communicates with the network device via the one of the modems according to the SCTP.
