Abstract:
Various methods and systems are provided for damping vibrations at a muffler. In one example, a system comprises an exhaust component, a muffler configured to receive exhaust gas from the exhaust component, and a vibration isolation device coupled between the exhaust component and the muffler, the vibration isolation device comprising a vibration dampening element and an active biasing element.
Abstract:
Various methods and systems are provided for managing condensation. In one example, a system comprises an engine; an intercooler positioned in an intake passage downstream of a first turbocharger compressor; an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system including an EGR cooler defining at least a portion of an EGR passage and communicating with a mixing region where exhaust gas mixes with the compressed intake air; a condensate collector fluidly coupled to the EGR cooler to collect condensate from the EGR cooler, the condensate collector positioned within the EGR cooler; and a drain line coupled to the condensate collector, the drain line having an outlet fluidically coupled to a turbocharger turbine outlet.
Abstract:
A cover for a charge air cooler of a turbocharged engine. The cover body defines a cooling water plenum, which has an opening at a first side of the cover for attachment over a water outlet of the charge air cooler. A plurality of valve housings are formed integrally with the body of the cover at a second side of the cover opposite the cooling water plenum opening. Each valve housing has a peripheral wall that extends from the cover to define an inner chamber, which opens into an inner fluid passage formed in the cover.
