    摘要: There is disclosed a novel organic solvent type coating composition capable of making the solid content concentration at the time of coating to higher than 70% by weight, without lowering the properties, which urethane type coating materials have, such as acid resistance, scratch resistance, finishing appearance etc. The composition comprises (A) a vinyl type polymer having both hydroxyl groups and alkoxysilyl groups in the molecule and having a number-average molecular weight in a range of 2,000 to 10,000; (B) a polyol compound having a number-average molecular weight of less than 1,000 and having a hydroxyl value in a range of 120 to 1,000 mgKOH/g; (C) a polyisocyanate compound having a number-average molecular weight of less than 2,000; and (D) a silanol group forming catalyst.

    摘要: An organic solvent-based heat-curable high solid coating composition comprising:(A) a carboxyl-containing compound having an acid value of 50 to 500 mg KOH/g wherein 20 mol % or more of the carboxyl groups are silylated carboxyl groups,(B) at least one epoxide selected from (B-1) an epoxy-, hydroxyl- and hydrolyzable alkoxysilyl-containing vinyl polymer, (B-2) the vinyl polymer (B-1) wherein 20 mol % or more of the hydroxyl groups are silylated hydroxyl groups, and (B-3) an epoxy compound having a number average molecular weight less than 1,000, and(C) a crosslinked particulate polymer,the composition having a solid content of 65 wt. % or more; and a method for forming a topcoat using the composition. The composition of the invention has a sufficiently high solid content, is capable of forming a coating film with high resistance to acids and the like, and is excellent in low-temperature curability, storage stability and recoat adhesion.

    摘要: This invention provides a thermosetting high solids coating composition comprising: (A) a copolymer prepared by polymerizing monomer components comprising (a) 30 to 50 wt. % of vinyltrimethoxysilane and/or vinyltriethoxysilane, (b) 5 to 15 wt. % of N-methylol(meth)acrylamide alkyl ether and (c) 35 to 65 wt. % of another polymerizable unsaturated monomer, (B) a hydroxyl-containing resin having a hydroxyl value of 10 to 200 mg KOH/g, and (C) a curing catalyst. This invention further provides a method for forming a topcoat using said composition. The composition of the invention achieves the following remarkable effects: it forms a coating film excellent in acid resistance and scratch resistance, and it is superior in storage stability and recoat adhesion.

    摘要: The present invention provides a coating method which comprises applying, onto a material to be coated, a cationic electrodepositable coating composition comprising (A) a polyurethane-modified epoxy resin-amine adduct obtained by a reaction of (A-1) a polyurethane-compound having one terminal isocyanate group in the molecule, obtained by a reaction of (a) a polyhydroxy compound having a number-average molecular weight of 50-8,000, (b) a polyisocyanate compound, and (c) a compound having one active hydrogen atom in the molecule; (A-2) a bisphenol type epoxy resin having at least two epoxy groups in the molecule; and (A-3) an active-hydrogen-containing amine compound, and (B) a nonionic film-forming resin, the weight ratio of the resin (A)/the resin (B) being 15/85 to 95/5 and the coating composition comprising substantially no pigment, then heat-curing the formed electrocoating film; and thereafter applying, onto the cured electrocoating film, an aqueous coating composition comprising a metallic pigment and/or a coloring pigment and a high-solid-content coating composition comprising (C) a carboxyl group-containing compound, (D) a vinyl type polymer containing, in the molecule, an epoxy group, a hydroxyl group and a hydrolyzable alkoxysilyl group, (E) a reactive organopolysiloxane, and (F) crosslinked polymer fine particles but comprising substantially no pigment, by two-coat two-bake or by two-coat one-bake.
