摘要:
An image registration method for use in medical imaging includes the steps of: providing a sequence of images each one including a digital representation of a body-part under analysis, selecting a reference image within the sequence, the remaining images of the sequence defining moving images, and re-aligning at least one portion of a moving image with respect to the reference image. The step of re-aligning may include: defining a delimitation mask identifying a region on the reference image with which the at least one portion of the moving image has to be re-aligned, and a feature mask identifying a further region on the reference image within which the re-alignment is calculated, determining an optimized transformation for compensating a displacement of the moving image with respect to the reference image by optimizing a similarity measure, and transforming the at least one portion of the moving image according to the optimized transformation.

An image registration method for use in medical imaging is proposed. The method includes the steps of: providing a sequence of images each one including a digital representation of a body-part under analysis, selecting a reference image within the sequence, the remaining images of the sequence defining moving images, and re-aligning at least one portion of a moving image with respect to the reference image. The step of re-aligning includes: defining a delimitation mask identifying a region on the reference image with which the at least one portion of the moving image has to be re-aligned, and a feature mask identifying a further region on the reference image within which the re-alignment is calculated, determining an optimized transformation for compensating a displacement of the moving image with respect to the reference image by optimizing a similarity measure, and transforming the at least one portion of the moving image according to the optimized transformation. The similarity measure is calculated alternatively between: a) a first computation region identified on the reference image by a computation mask and a second computation region identified by the computation mask on the moving image transformed according to a proposed transformation, the computation mask being determined by the intersection between the feature mask and the delimitation mask transformed according to the proposed transformation, or b) a first computation region identified by a computation mask on the reference image transformed according to a proposed transformation and a second computation region identified by the computation mask on the moving image, the computation mask being determined by the intersection between the feature mask transformed according to the proposed transformation and the delimitation mask, or c) a first computation region identified on the reference image by a computation mask transformed according to the reverse of a proposed transformation and a second computation region identified by the computation mask on the moving image, the computation mask being determined by the intersection between the feature mask transformed according to the proposed transformation and the delimitation mask.

A method and apparatus for evaluating acute stroke patients and for determining whether a stroke patient will benefit from the use of thrombolysis therapy includes obtaining measurements of the cerebral blood flow and cerebral blood volume of the brain of a stroke patient, determining ischemic areas of the brain where the ischemic areas comprise the measurements of cerebral blood flow which are less than a first value and creating a penumbra-infarct map of the ischemic areas of the brain using the measurements. The infarct area corresponds to the area of the brain where cerebral blood volume is less than a second value. The penumbra area corresponds to the area of the brain where cerebral blood volume is greater than this second value. The method also includes determining a ratio of penumbra size to the total of penumbra size and infarct size. When the ratio is greater than a predetermined value, the stroke patient is a candidate for thrombolysis therapy.
摘要:
The system comprises at least three anchors (2,2′,2″) intended to be attached to the patient and equipped with markers (5,5′,5″), an insertion guide device (6) with an insertion guide (7) intended to be attached to said anchors (2,2′,2″), an external calibration device (8) with at least three calibration markers (10,10′,10″) corresponding to said markers (5,5′,5″) and a planning and imaging software. The planning and imaging software is used to determine the position of a target point in the patient with respect to the markers (5,5′,5″), the calibration device is used to calibrate and orient the insertion guide (7) of the insertion guide device (6) mounted on said calibration markers (10,10′,10″) using the determination of the software before the insertion guide device is mounted on said markers (5,5′,5″) attached to the patient.

Temperature imaging has been recognized to improve a variety of diagnostic and interventional procedures and to predict and prevent failures of electrical circuits and equipments. A system design and method is disclosed, wherein the thermal data is fused and mapped with the data streams coming from a US, CT, or MR scanner, giving the doctors or industrial investigators the impression of being working with a known US, CT, or MR system which has been augmented by the temperature mapping capability.
