摘要: A torch ignition type internal combustion engine which has no intake valve in the auxiliary combustion chamber and which can effectively purge exhaust gases from the auxiliary combustion chamber to eliminate ignition failures, the engine comprising a cylinder; a cylinder head having a semi-spherical inner wall; a reciprocating piston snugly received in the cylinder; a main combustion chamber defined between the cylinder head and piston and having intake and exhaust valves to control intake and exhaust ports in the cylinder head; an auxiliary combustion chamber provided at a suitable position in the cylinder head; and a passage intercommunicating the main and auxiliary combustion chambers. The passage opens into the main combustion chamber at a position close to one of the intake valve and the exhaust valve. In one embodiment, the passage opens into the main combustion chamber at a position close to and substantially intermediate the intake and exhaust valves. In another embodiment, the passage opens into the main combustion chamber near the intake valve and close to one side of the semi-spherical inner wall of the cylinder head.

摘要: Disclosed is an internal combustion engine with an auxiliary combustion chamber having an exhaust gas recirculating device for recirculating the exhaust gas from the exhaust system into the intake system. The auxiliary combustion chamber is connected only to the main combustion chamber via at least two connecting passages. The connecting passages are arranged so that the combustible mixture introduced into the auxiliary combustion chamber from the main combustion chamber via one of said connecting passages strengthens the swirl motion of the mixture created by the combustible mixture introduced into the auxiliary combustion chamber from the main combustion chamber via the other connecting passage.

摘要: Embodiments of the present invention provide a disk drive capable of reducing, by means of simple control, vibrations applied to the drive and vibrations occurring in the drive, and a control method for controlling the disk drive. In one embodiment, a servo system comprises a sensor unit for detecting vibrations, a correction signal generator for, when the sensor unit detects vibrations, generating a correction signal, a position error signal generator for generating a PES signal on the basis of servo data read out from a disk and a target position, a servo controller for generating a servo control signal for controlling a position of a head on the basis of the PES signal, and a servo controller for generating a driving signal on the basis of the correction signal and the servo control signal. The correction signal generator includes a plurality of filters, each of which eliminates vibrations in each different frequency band, the correction signal generator selecting one or two or more RV-FF filters when vibrations are detected, and then generating a correction signal so as to reduce a position error indicated by the PES signal.

摘要: A semiconductor memory device includes a RAM and a serial access memory (SAM). The SAM includes an address counter which generates a slave address and a master address. The slave address precedes the master address by half the period of a serial access strobe signal. A redundancy decision is made by comparing the slave address with a redundancy address. When the master address is supplied to a data register provided in the SAM, the decision result is available. That is, the SAM can be accessed immediately after the master address is supplied thereto.

摘要: A two-stroke cycle diesel engine having: at least one two-stroke cycle power cylinder - piston assembly incorporating uniflow scavenging and having two horizontally opposed pistons, at least first and second scavenging ports and two crankcases which may perform crankcase compression; a pump assembly including at least one scavenging pump cylinder - piston assembly of the reciprocating type which is separate from and is driven by the power cylinder - piston assembly; and a scavenging air introducing device which introduces scavenging air compressed by the pump assembly to the first and the second scavenging ports through first and second passage systems, respectively; wherein the first passage system is interrupted before the pump assembly reaches its top dead center so that thereafter the scavenging air compressed by the pump assembly is all supplied to the second scavenging port which is adapted to generate strong swirl flows in the power cylinder when scavenging air at high pressure is supplied in a large amount.
