A hetero-epitaxial liquid phase growth method for growing a compound semiconductor by liquid phase epitaxy includes placing a melt in a closed melt boat on a substrate and epitaxially growing a first thin film, opening the melt boat while the melt remains in a melted state for a predetermined time to evaporate a component of the melt, and epitaxially growing a second thin film on the first thin film from the melt from which the component has been evaporated.
Abstract:
A passenger detecting device includes a plurality of weight sensors, a passenger judging and data updating device and an update forbidding device. The weight sensors are arranged at different positions of a seat for respectively detecting weights acting on the seat of a motor vehicle. The passenger judging and data updating device is capable of judging a passenger on the seat based on the loads detected by the weight sensors and updating information on the passenger. The update forbidding device prevents the passenger judging and data updating device from judging the passenger or prevents the information to be updated when a sum-weight fluctuation amount is not less than a first predetermined threshold value, where the sum-weight fluctuation amount is obtained by summing up weight function amounts which are absolute values of fluctuations of the loads detected by the weight sensors.

An armature for use in a motor has a plurality of teeth, a plurality of slots and coils of three kinds of phases. A plurality of the slots is formed between the coadjacent teeth. The coils of three phases are wound around the teeth. The armature has a coil structure, according to which radial force acting on a specific tooth is greater than radial force acting on another tooth. A peak value of the radial force acting on the specific tooth is approximated to a peak value of the radial force acting on another tooth in such a manner that a flux path in and/or adjacent to the specific tooth is made narrower than a flux path in and/or adjacent to another tooth.

A vehicle passenger detecting device includes a judging circuit (6), which judges whether a passenger seated on a seat (1) is a child or not based on a load acting on each of areas of a seat portion (1a) of the seat for a vehicle, and the judging circuit (6), with a fastened sate of a seat belt (5a), judges whether or not a total load acting on the entire area of the seat portion is within a predetermined range, and when the total load is within the predetermined range, if a front outer load acting on a front outer area is a first threshold or more and the ratio of the front outer load to a front inner load acting on a front inner area is a second threshold or more, or the ratio of both outer loads acting on both of outer areas to both inner loads acting on both of inner areas is a third threshold or more, the judging circuit judges (6) that a seated passenger is a child.

It is an object of the present invention to prevent overdischarge of the secondary battery installed inside an electronic deice and to increase waterproofing ability of the electronic device. In order to attain this object, the electronic device of the present invention comprises a secondary battery, a main circuit which is operated by receiving power supply from the secondary battery, and a switch for ON/OFF controlling power supply from the secondary battery to the main circuit. With such a configuration, the secondary battery can be installed in the electronic device in advance at the electronic device shipping stage and waterproofing ability of the components accommodating the secondary battery can be improved. Furthermore, if the switch is switched off at the electronic device shipping stage, overcharge of the secondary battery can be prevented and the electronic device can be stored for a long time with the secondary battery contained therein.

An objective is to provide a position pointing device, a program and a method for detecting the position pointing device which relates to a device pointing a position on a display screen and which can discriminate a scan mode of a display device and obtain information of pointed position by performing a processing corresponding to the discriminated scan mode. A photosensor (18) provided in the position pointing device detects a scanning beam from a display device (140) and generates a light detection signal. A scan mode discriminating section (30) judges that a scan mode in the display device is not a standard scan mode type, but a multi-density scan type if a frequency component of the light detection signal includes a frequency component of a horizontal synchronous signal in a multi-density scan type display device.

The present invention provides a dielectric ceramic composition, which is, in addition to having superior resistance to reduction during firing, superior capacitance temperature characteristics after firing and superior dielectric characteristics, also demonstrates an enhanced lifetime for insulation resistance.The present invention is a dielectric ceramic composition comprising 0.18 to 0.5 part by weight of Yb2O3, 0.6 to 1.5 parts by weight of MgO, 0.4 to 1.5 parts by weight of CaSiO3, 0.02 to 0.2 part by weight of WO3, 0.1 to 0.4 part by weight of MnCO3 and 0.02 to 0.2 part by weight of MoO3 based on 100 parts by weight of (BaO)m.TiO2 (wherein, m is from 0.990 to 0.995).

A housing of an electric motor includes an inner circumferential surface, which includes recesses arranged along the circumferential direction. On an outer circumferential surface of a stator core of a stator are provided protrusions arranged along the circumferential direction. Fitting each protrusion to the corresponding recess fixes the stator core to the housing. A rotor is provided radially inward of the stator. In a state where each protrusion is fitted to the corresponding recess, a pair of side surfaces of each protrusion are retained by a pair of inner side surfaces of the corresponding recess in the circumferential direction of the housing. A gap is formed between an end face of each protrusion and an inner bottom surface of the corresponding recess facing the end face along the entire surface of the end face.
