摘要: A passenger detecting device includes a plurality of weight sensors, a passenger judging and data updating means and an update forbidding means. The weight sensors are arranged at different positions of a seat for respectively detecting weights acting on the seat of a motor vehicle. The passenger judging and data updating means is capable of judging a passenger on the seat based on the loads detected by the weight sensors and updating information on the passenger. The update forbidding means prevents the passenger judging and data updating means from judging the passenger or prevents the information to be updated when a sum-weight fluctuation amount is not less than a first predetermined threshold value, where the sum-weight fluctuation amount is obtained by summing up weight function amounts which are absolute values of fluctuations of the loads detected by the weight sensors.

摘要: The invention is to provide a gas laser in which a discharge tube of a double-tube construction comprising a inner tube and an outer tube of a relatively large diameter is employed, a tubular discharge space filled with a gas mixture is formed between the inner tube and the outer tube, a gas mixture cooling passage is formed within the discharge space, and a pair of mirror groups are disposed at both ends of the discharge space, each mirror group comprising a plurality of mirrors arranged in the circumferential direction. The respective mirrors are arranged in such a manner that a laser beam is reflected by the mirrors to go and return in the discharge space several times and each path of the laser beam between the corresponding two mirrors obliquely intersects the central axis of the discharge space. Thus, it is possible to obtain a laser beam in single mode with a single discharge tube without the need of enlarging a length of the tube and also to reduce a pressure loss of the gas mixture within the discharge space.

摘要: A capacitor and an inductance are connected in parallel with an interruptor disposed in a d-c circuit before the interruptor is mechanically opened. An oscillating current i.sub.o occurs in a circuit composed of the interruptor, the capacitor having a predetermined capacitance and the inductance having a predetermined amount of inductance when the interruptor is mechanically opened. The amplitude of the oscillating current i.sub.o is gradually increased and is superposed on a d-c current I. The interruptor breaks itself when the sum of the d-c current I and the oscillating current i.sub.o across the interruptor reaches zero.

摘要: A persistent current switch adapted to connect the ends of a superconducting coil together and to disconnect the ends thereof includes a vacuum casing and at least a pair of electrodes disposed in the vacuum casing in opposing relationship to each other. Each of the electrodes is provided with a highly conductive contact portion of high-purity metal having a very small resistivity at extremely low temperatures and with at least one superconducting contact portion of superconducting material in alignment with one another in the respective electrodes so that parallel current paths of the highly conductive contact portion and the superconducting contact portion may be simultaneously established when the electrodes are brought into contact with each other. The persistent current flows through the superconducting contact portion in the normal state, but the current is swiftly diverted to the highly conductive contact portion when the S-N transition takes place owing to the deterioration of the critical current value of the superconductor due to the sudden change in conduction current or the application of external magnetic field so that the rapid attenuation of the persistent current can be prevented.

摘要: A manufacturing method of a clad material composed of a bronze alloy and a steel is provided, including: scattering a bronze alloy powder on a steel back metal; sintering the bronze alloy powder to obtain a bilayer material having a porous bronze alloy layer on the steel; dry-rolling and a sintering the bilayer material so that the bronze alloy layer has a porosity of 3% or less; and wet-rolling the bilayer material with supplying a rolling oil to surfaces of rolling rolls. The clad manufactured according to this method can be heat-treated without an disadvantage in a conventional wet-rolling that entering rolling oil vaporizes in the bronze alloy layer during the heat treatment to form new voids. Therefore, it becomes possible to make a bronze alloy layer high in density in small times of rolling, thus enabling an increase in production efficiency.
