    摘要: An integrated field emission array for ion desorption includes an electrically conductive substrate; a dielectric layer lying over the electrically conductive substrate comprising a plurality of laterally separated cavities extending through the dielectric layer; a like plurality of conically-shaped emitter tips on posts, each emitter tip/post disposed concentrically within a laterally separated cavity and electrically contacting the substrate; and a gate electrode structure lying over the dielectric layer, including a like plurality of circular gate apertures, each gate aperture disposed concentrically above an emitter tip/post to provide a like plurality of annular gate electrodes and wherein the lower edge of each annular gate electrode proximate the like emitter tip/post is rounded. Also disclosed herein are methods for fabricating an integrated field emission array.

    摘要: A device for dispensing a viscous fluid, such as grease gun for dispensing lubricant. The grease gun delivers lubricant with a selectable variation in pressure and/or output. It includes a reservoir, a pump having a reciprocating plunger, an electric motor driving the pump, and a variable speed transmission for transmitting power from the motor to the pump. The transmission has at least two different output speed settings adapted to be selected for reciprocating the plunger at different cyclical frequencies. A cycle indicator provides an indication corresponding to a quantity of lubricant dispensed. Embodiments of the grease gun include a pressure relief valve which inhibits damage due to an over-pressure condition, and a circuit breaker which inhibits damage due to electrical overload.

    摘要: A bleed system for venting pressurized gas at a selectively adjustable flow rate. The bleed system includes a plurality of bleed flow paths of different lengths providing varying resistance to the flow of air and a bleed path selector mechanism movable between a plurality of different settings corresponding with the different flow paths. The flow paths are defined by channels formed in a face of a plate and are connectable in series. The bleed system is applied in a runaway control for an air motor which shuts off the motor when its speed exceeds a predetermined cut-off speed. Selection of a different bleed flow path adjusts the cut-off speed.

The compressive force is distributed over a surface of the jaw face. The sensor is coupled to the jaw face or held in place by the compressive force of the jaw face. The sensor is configured to generate a sensor signal corresponding to a physiological parameter of tissue proximate the jaw face.

The invention also extends to fibroin solution, a fibroin material and an implant useful for cartilage repair.
