Abstract: A snowmobile extends along a longitudinal axis and includes a frame, a powertrain coupled to the frame and a track operatively coupled to the powertrain, the track having an upper run and a lower run. The snowmobile includes a rear suspension having at least one slide rail having a hyfax defining a plane, at least one front idler wheel in contact with the lower run of the track, at least one center idler wheel positioned adjacent the at least one front idler wheel, and at least one rear idler wheel positioned adjacent the at least one center idler wheel, and wherein the positioning of the at least center idler wheel is configured such that the at least one rear idler wheel is positioned at an angle relative to the plane having a value that is greater than zero.

Abstract: An ATV is disclosed having a frame and a plurality of wheels. A power train is defined by an engine, transmission and front and rear final drives. The engine is mounted to the frame skid plate by way of die cast legs. The transmission may include a CVT, which includes a cooling system to cool the interior of the CVT. The cooling system include a fan positioned on the driven clutch causing a reverse suction air flow, back through the drive clutch, with the air exhausting at the front of the engine.

Abstract: An all-terrain vehicle is disclosed having a braking system with an anti-lock braking control module and a first brake master cylinder hydraulically coupled to the anti-lock braking control module. A first brake actuator is coupled to the first brake master cylinder and a brake caliper is coupled to at least some of the ground engaging members. The first brake master cylinder upon actuation provides anti-lock braking to either the first or second ground engaging members. A second brake master cylinder is hydraulically coupled to the anti-lock braking control module. A second brake actuator is coupled to the second brake master cylinder and a brake caliper is coupled to at least some of the ground engaging members. The second brake master cylinder upon actuation provides anti-lock braking to either the first or second ground engaging members. The vehicle also has a speed monitor with a gear ring positioned on an exterior surface of a stub shaft and a speed pickup positioned adjacent to the gear ring.
