Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses for a wireless node to receive a phase tracking reference signal (PTRS) transmitted inside a downlink random access channel (RACH) message. The wireless node may receive a downlink RACH message that includes a PTRS based on an indication received in a downlink RACH message or a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) associated with a downlink RACH message. In some aspects, the wireless node may utilize the PTRS for phase error correction or frequency error correction (such as frequency error caused by Doppler effects). This disclosure also provides systems, methods, and apparatuses for a component of a base station to provide an indication that a PTRS is included in a downlink RACH message. The indication may be provided in a downlink RACH message or a PDCCH associated with a downlink RACH message.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a signal. The UE may determine, based at least in part on a machine learning component, a predicted communication metric and a confidence indication, the machine learning component comprising a machine learning model, and wherein determining the predicted communication metric and the confidence indication comprises: receiving, by the machine learning model, an input that comprises an input metric and an error measurement corresponding to the input metric; and providing, by the machine learning model, and based at least in part on a machine learning function and the input, the predicted communication metric and the confidence indication. The UE may perform a wireless communication task based at least in part on the predicted communication metric and the confidence indication. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for wireless communication. Various aspects relate to initial physical random access channel (PRACH) power control using multiple PRACH signals, and more particularly to supporting one or more initialization and power control operations between a user equipment (UE) and a network entity prior to an association process. The initial PRACH power control may include the UE transmitting, to the network entity, a first set of PRACH signals at different respective power levels. The network entity may transmit a response message indicating a single set of PRACH signals detected by the network entity, and the UE may detect whether a first PRACH signal, of the first set of PRACH signals, is included in the single set of PRACH signals to select a power level associated with the first PRACH signal for transmitting association messages.

In some aspects, a network node may apply a crest factor reduction (CFR) to an input signal to generate an output signal, the applying the CFR to the input signal including applying a shaping filter that distributes a first portion of CFR noise within a transmission frequency band of the output signal and a second portion of the CFR noise in at least one air interface resource that is outside of the transmission frequency band of the output signal. Abstract: One innovative aspect of the subject matter described in this disclosure can be implemented in a method for wireless communication. The method includes determining a configuration of reference signal (RS) resources to be used by a user-equipment (UE) to perform beam measurements, transmitting, to the UE, an indication of the configuration of the RS resources, and receiving, from the UE, a report indicating a plurality of RS resource indicators based on the beam measurements, each of the RS resource indicators being associated with one of the RS resources. In some aspects, the BS selects a subset of the RS resources based on the report from the UE, transmits, to the UE, an indication to provide channel measurement information for the subset of the RS resources, and receives a report including the channel measurement information from the UE. The BS may also perform joint precoding of signals for transmission via the RS resources based on the channel measurement information.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may establish communications between the UE and a serving cell. The serving cell may be different than each non-serving cell of a set of non-serving cells for the UE. The UE may use machine learning models to determine outputs associated with mobility measurement reporting for the UE. The outputs may indicate whether to perform measurements associated with the set of non-serving cells, whether to report the measurements associated with the set of non-serving cells, one or more non-serving cells within the set of non-serving cells for performing or reporting the measurements, or one or more reference signals of the one or more non-serving cells for performing the measurements, or any combination thereof. The UE may perform the mobility measurement reporting based on the outputs.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. During an operation for discovering reconfigurable surfaces, a sensing signal may be transmitted. Based on the sensing signal being transmitted, another signal may be detected at the device that transmitted the sensing signal, another device, or both. The device that detects the signal may combine the detected signal with a modulation sequence that is associated with a reconfigurable surface, where the reconfigurable surface may be assigned a set of unique modulation sequences and configured to apply a modulation sequence to received signals. Based on combining the detected signal with the modulation sequence, the device may determine whether the reconfigurable surface is present within a geographic region.
